Ukrainian Statistics, a Good Indicator of People’s IQ

About 94% of Ukrainians still believe their country will win in the conflict with Russia, though that is down from 97% in April 2022. Only 68% are convinced that Kiev will manage to win back all the territory it claims – the “1991 borders,” i.e. all the regions that have voted to join Russia, including Crimea.

The survey was carried out by the polling agency Rating, on behalf of the IRI’s Center for Insights in Survey Research. It relied on a representative sample of 2,000 adult Ukrainians and was funded by a grant from USAID.

Meanwhile, an Economist/YouGov survey published on Wednesday showed Zelensky as more popular among Americans than either President Joe Biden or his predecessor and likely 2024 challenger Donald Trump. Half of the surveyed Americans regarded the Ukrainian leader favorably and 24% unfavorably. Trump and Biden each got only 42% approval, with 55% disliking the current US president and 54% the previous one.

Who is Johnson, the New Speaker?

New Speaker of the House is Zionist Evangelical Christian Who Wants Americans to Believe He was Ordained by God to Support Israel and Destroy Palestinians

Louisiana Congressman Mike Johnson has been elected as Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives.

Johnson is a Zionist Evangelical Christian, and his first act as the newly elected Speaker was to draw up a resolution supporting the current government in Israel.

Johnson apparently is also calling for the genocide of the Palestinian people, who at the time of this writing, have reportedly seen over 7,000 of their people killed in the recent conflict.

Do you Zionist Evangelical Christians not understand how supporting modern-day Israel will eventually lead to your belief also being declared illegal as hate speech, and “antisemitic”?

The Future of Ukraine

Opinions may differ.

You know, the situation is very interesting.

From the Left point of view, it’s a war against globalism; from the Right’s it is a war of national liberation. But from what?

From the dictatorship of global capital. While it’s a nationalist struggle, at the same time it can be a coalition of many nations against the global cabal.

Now, the question is not whether to support the right wing or the left wing, but globalism or national sovereignty.

So there are interesting paradoxes here, in which Ukrainian Nationalists are the last idiots.

In the name of Ukrainian Sovereignty they fight to become part of the American empire which means – to lose sovereignty. Becoming part of another big power is to lose sovereignty…. They should have said “Stop” last year and stayed neutral.

Now the choice is limited – they will be part of one of the two big empires, even though one of them offered neutrality and negotiations earlier.

And actually we’re going back to the good old zones of influence, and currency zones.

The West is Going Full Ape Against Russia

via RT

Moscow has accused the European Union of taking pointers from Nazi Germany, as the 27-nation bloc mulls plans to issue special “democracy passports” to Russian opposition activists working toward regime change in the country.

Commenting on a recent draft document put under consideration by the European Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs this week, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said the bloc hoped to use Russian citizens as its “little helpers,” drawing comparisons to the policies of the Third Reich.

“It is known that during the years of Nazi occupation, persons wishing to cooperate with the German administration were offered to sign the so-called ‘Volkslist,’ a special document that played the role of [passport],” she said, adding that the EU had similarly proposed “passports for good Russians.”

The draft report, penned by Lithuanian MEP Andrius Kubilius, calls on the bloc to adopt a new sweeping strategy to pursue a “change of power in Russia,”saying it would work with “democratic forces” in and outside the country to topple the current leadership and establish a “transitional government.”

As part of that plan, the bloc suggested a new “democracy passport” and “special visa arrangements” for Russian opposition activists working “in exile”from EU member states, offering to scale back travel restrictions for dissident Russians.

“They have big plans,” Zakharova continued, going on to quote the EU policy paper. “Holders of ‘passports of democracy’ will become the backbone of the EU after ‘the victory of Ukraine and the defeat of Russia, which will open a window of opportunity for the transformation of Russia into democracy.’”

The spokeswoman noted that, under Soviet law during the Second World War, signing the German ‘Volklist’ was “qualified as treason” and “prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” calling on Russian legislators to “work out a possible reaction if the European Parliament approves such decisions.”

The European Union has imposed heavy sanctions on Russia since the conflict with Ukraine escalated in February 2022, also approving a long list of arms transfers to Kiev. It said it would continue those policies in the near term, hoping for a “decisive Ukrainian victory” that would ultimately pave the way to “fundamental political changes in Russia.”

Russia Tests its Nuclear Triad for Massive Response Capability

via Gilbert Doctorow

A couple of days ago, Russian evening news showed a brief video of Vladimir Putin arriving at the southern military command center in Rostov on Don for a meeting with Valery Gerasimov, Head of the General Staff of Russian Armed Forces. We were shown their handshakes at the start and their handshakes at the conclusion of the meeting as Putin was on his way to his aircraft, but nothing was said about the reason for the visit.

This evening we found out about the likely topic of the talks two days ago. Breaking news on Russian television gave some sketchy details of the tests just carried out on the war readiness of the country’s nuclear triad for response to some incoming nuclear missile from an unnamed enemy. Gerasimov reported to Putin on the satisfactory results of the launch from the nuclear submarine Tula in the Barents Sea of a Sineva ballistic missile with 5,500 km range; the launch of a Yars ballistic missile with 12,000 km range from an underground shaft in Kamchatka; and the launch of a 5,500 km range cruise missile from a TU-95 “Bear” turboprop bomber-missile carrier (location unspecified). Considering the location of the missile launches and the radius of possible strikes, it does not take much imagination to conclude that the enemy being attacked was the U.S. of A. The actual tests consisted of one missile each; the capability being tested was for a massive retaliatory strike.

We may assume that the tests were Russia’s response to the announcement within the past week of American ‘pre-tests’ of nuclear weapons, which Moscow took to indicate that Washington intends to proceed with weapons testing in one way or another now that the treaty banning such tests has become a dead letter. Or we may assume that the Russian missile firings were a warning to the United States against escalation in the Middle East by attacking Iran.

On the subject of Iran, Russian state television yesterday told us about the visit to Teheran of Foreign Minister Lavrov, who arrived from meetings in Pyongyang with North Korean leader Kim and had talks with the Iranians and representatives of Armenia and Azerbaijan over resolution of their conflict. Lavrov told a reporter inter alia that talks with Teheran over conclusion of a Strategic Partnership agreement are 90% complete.

Today Russian state television related news from Prime Minister Mishustin on his talks with Iranian leaders over furtherance of bilateral trade and also on the likely conclusion before year’s end of a Free Trade Zone agreement with the Eurasian Economic Union. Clearly the ‘axis of evil’ is forming with amazing speed under pressure from the wars in Ukraine and now in the Middle East.

I call attention to the difference in tone with respect to Iran by Israeli leaders these past two days and by spokesmen of the Biden administration. A member of Netanyahu’s cabinet has threatened Iran with utter destruction, whereas American officials are focusing their attention on the various proxies that Iran is helping to prepare for military action against Israel if the ground invasion of Gaza proceeds. Moreover, it is now unclear whether the large naval task forces that the United States is assembling in the Eastern Mediterranean and in the Red Sea are intended for offensive action against Iran or for defensive action, to protect American bases in the region against attack from pro-Iranian forces and to evacuate American military and civilians from the region if necessary.

Putin’s Valdai Speech: Multipolar Future Has Arrived

by Ekaterinburg Blinova via Sputnik
The multipolar world that Russian President Vladimir Putin has referred to over the past several years has finally taken shape, international observers told Sputnik.

Russian President Vladimir Putin delivered a speech on October 5 at the plenary session of the 20th meeting of the Valdai International Discussion Club in Sochi emphasizing the tectonic and irreversible shifts taking place in the global order.

Sixteen years ago, at the 2007 Munich Security Conference, Putin told Western leaders that the natural type of international system is multipolarity, clearly showing that Russia would oppose US unipolar dominance. The moment of truth has come, and US hegemony is fading in front of our eyes while a new multipolar world is emerging, per ProfessorJoe Siracusa, political scientist and dean of Global Futures, Curtin University.

“In many, many ways, the future that Mr. Putin is talking about has already arrived,” Siracusa told Sputnik. “What he’s kind of saying between the lines is it’s already here. Now we have to see it. The world has changed. And the reason he thinks that the Americans, particularly in Washington, make these terrible mistakes is because they do not see that the world has changed around them already. The world, the future is changing in front of them and they fail to see it. He thinks that might be the cause of the conflict.

Putin Outlines Six Civilizational Principles

During his Valdai speech, Putin outlined six principles Russia wants to adhere to and offers other nations to join it.

“First, we want to live in an open, interconnected world, in which no one will ever try to erect artificial barriers to people’s communication, their creative realization, and prosperity. There must be a barrier-free environment,” Putin said.

The second principle is the diversity of the world, which should not only be preserved, but should also be the foundation of universal development.

The third principle, according to the Russian head of state, is maximum representativeness: “No one has the right or can rule the world for others or on behalf of others. The world of the future is a world of collective decisions,” the president emphasized.

Fourth is universal security and lasting peace that takes into account the interests of great states and small countries equally. To achieve this, it is important to free international relations from the bloc mentality and the dark legacy of the colonial era and Cold War, according to Putin.

The fifth principle is justice for all: “The era of exploitation of anyone – I have already said this twice – is a thing of the past. Countries and peoples are clearly aware of their interests and capabilities and are ready to rely on themselves, and this multiplies their strength. Everyone must be provided with access to the benefits of modern development,” Putin emphasized.

The sixth principle is equality: no one should be forced to obey those who are richer or more powerful at the cost of their own development and national interests, according to the Russian president.

“The ‘civilizational model’ referred to in Putin’s speech seems anchored on ‘principles’ – such as non-colonial relations; non-patronizing attitudes; respectful of diversity rooted in the diverse traditions – that will require a huge work to generate new shared international norms,” Paolo Raffone, a strategic analyst and director of the CIPI Foundation in Brussels, told Sputnik. “The Western ‘rules-based liberal international order’ is unilateral, and it could be imposed in a specific time in history leveraging on the power and prominence of a small group of colonial powers that after the liberal model crisis and civil war (1914-1945) has been inherited by a distant but super-powerful country (US). In a nutshell, I can say that the ‘civilizational model’ approach probably aims at structuring a shared world ‘software,’ while the ‘liberal rules-based order’ has been aiming at building an imposed ‘hardware’ defended by ‘rules’ serving the financial and military hegemony.”

World’s Corrupt Elites & Special Interests to Blame for Crisis

Putin does not blame the people of the West or their governments for the unfolding global crisis, but the corrupt elites, or particularly corrupt interests within these permanent elites, according to Siracusa.

“And so, he’s targeted the problem that a lot of the people have targeted, and that is the political elites, the foreign policy elites have targeted Russia, then, of course, China as part of their campaign to keep their people fearful and concentrated,” Siracusa said.

“He’s really telling these other publics to hold the elites accountable. And, of course, the elites that need a war of choice or necessity, forever war to keep going, etc., etc.. I mean, most of America’s great industries, Boeing, Northrop, Raytheon, etc., depend on a continuing war. With whom? Doesn’t make a difference. It’s got a kind of war-like production. That’s been the essence of American prosperity since the 1950s,” the scholar emphasized.

The arrogance of the Western elites reached its highest after the collapse of the USSR, according to the scholar. When the Russian Federation “was prepared to come to terms, to deal with the West, the West, particularly the United States, interpreted this as a weakness, not strength,” and “started to dictate things,” Siracusa pointed out.

Thirty years ago, the US and its satellites embraced hegemony, no one was going to listen to Russia; however, attempts to establish a unipolar order were doomed to failure, since the world is too diverse, the Russian president stressed.

“The overall speech gave a steady image of Mr. Putin, who also displayed a comfortable situation for Russia,” Raffone said. “I would synthesize it in a few words: ‘Russia has overcome critical challenges, and it is here to stay.’ He stressed that ‘Russia is the largest state on the planet’ and he underlined that ‘while the Russian civilization has no frontiers, the Russian civilization can exist because there is the Russian state.’ This gives the impression of Russian steadiness and projection in the world.”

Russia Open to Dialogue Having Strong Negotiating Position

Despite simmering tension, Moscow has left the door to dialogue open for the West, according to Siracusa: “I think he’s made it very clear to the elites that they’re going to have to change their view on Russia and even China, because the world they’re looking for is one of, he said, cooperation. It’s not a sustained conflict. He made very clear to the elites that they’re going to have to reconsider and rethink their position and that Russia is prepared to sit down with them.”

Siracusa drew attention to the fact that the Russian president “made it very clear to the elites that Russia is not interested in territorial gain in Eastern and Central Europe.”

At the same time, “in a reassuring format that is open to dialogue despite the differences, Mr. Putin’s speech showed moderation matched with the determined willingness and capacity to defend the state interests,”Raffone underscored.

When it comes to Russia’s nuclear capability, Putin did not demonstrate any intent “to deviate from the deterrence approach despite the US not legally abiding to the treaty,” the strategic analyst remarked.

“He explained that the Russian superiority in nuclear weapons constitutes a sufficient deterrent to anybody imagining the use of nuclear heads against Russia or threatening the existence of the Russian state,” Raffone said.

Moscow feels quite confident on the global stage despite last year’s gloomy prognoses in the Western mainstream press. Russia’s economy is up and running, the nation’s defense industry has expanded, and the goals of the special military operation will be accomplished, Putin stated in his speech.

“There is no situation in which, say, today something would threaten Russian statehood and the existence of the Russian state,” the president said.

Russia Showed Alternative Ways for Global Development

Unlike during the post-Cold War period, the world now has alternatives for development, according to Siracusa, outlining Russia’s key role in creating these conditions.

“There are two models out there: the BRICS model, which is kind of one model of multipolarity, and the other one is the G7. That’s the other model, dominating one,” the political scientist noted.

“So international cooperation begins with harmonious coexistence. And if you’re not prepared to play that game, and if you’re not prepared to leave your arrogance at the door and your misunderstandings at the door, what he’s saying is that it’s a brand new game. And I also think that the future has actually arrived. And now we have to open our eyes and see that the world has broken down into different groupings, regional groupings and territorial groupings that weren’t there before. So we don’t have a unipower. We don’t have superpowers. We don’t have any of that kind of thing. We have a multipolarity which depends on multilateral diplomacy.”

Per Siracusa, a brand new age for diplomacy has come and the Valdai conference made very clear that diplomacy is the major moderating influence. The political scientist believes that Vladimir Putin’s Thursday speech was written in a very plain fashion and that its message is clear and simple: “If you want international cooperation and peace with Russia, you can have it. And if you don’t, you’re going to have a problem,” the scholar said.

“Russia (and China) supported many decolonization processes and national liberation movements,” emphasized Raffone. “The new independent states have been re-colonized using the ‘rules-based order’ but today many are reacting. The large interest for the BRICS+ shows that today many countries and peoples are looking for concrete alternatives to the West dominated world.”

Simultaneously, Putin demonstrated how following in the footsteps of a hegemon could end up for its allies, according to the analyst.

“Mr. Putin has been very gloomy for the European economics perspectives. Much less for the US. The European recession and social difficulties are a fact. The more Europeans continue to serve the American interests, the more gloomy will be their perspective,” Raffone concluded.

UN SecGen Calls For End Of Zionist Bombing

via Moon of Alabama

Press Briefing with the NSC Coordinator for Strategic Communications John Kirby – October 24, 2023

And as I think you’ve heard us say, a ceasefire right now really only benefits Hamas. That’s where we are right now.

A ceasefire would of course benefit ALL people living in Gaza and all Israelis under threat of Hamas missile fire.

The UN Secretary General António Guterres took a much saner position:

Secretary-General’s remarks to the Security Council – on the Middle East – October 24, 2023

It is important to also recognize the attacks by Hamas did not happen in a vacuum. The Palestinian people have been subjected to 56 years of suffocating occupation.

They have seen their land steadily devoured by settlements and plagued by violence; their economy stifled; their people displaced and their homes demolished. Their hopes for a political solution to their plight have been vanishing.

But the grievances of the Palestinian people cannot justify the appalling attacks by Hamas. And those appalling attacks cannot justify the collective punishment of the Palestinian people.

Excellencies, Even war has rules.

We must demand that all parties uphold and respect their obligations under international humanitarian law; take constant care in the conduct of military operations to spare civilians; and respect and protect hospitals and respect the inviolability of UN facilities which today are sheltering more than 600,000 Palestinians.

The relentless bombardment of Gaza by Israeli forces, the level of civilian casualties, and the wholesale destruction of neighborhoods continue to mount and are deeply alarming.

The protection of civilians is paramount in any armed conflict.

Protecting civilians can never mean using them as human shields.

Protecting civilians does not mean ordering more than one million people to evacuate to the south, where there is no shelter, no food, no water, no medicine and no fuel, and then continuing to bomb the south itself.

I am deeply concerned about the clear violations of international humanitarian law that we are witnessing in Gaza.

Let me be clear: No party to an armed conflict is above international humanitarian law.

Today is United Nations Day, marking 78 years since the UN Charter entered into force.

That Charter reflects our shared commitment to advance peace, sustainable development and human rights.

On this UN Day, at this critical hour, I appeal to all to pull back from the brink before the violence claims even more lives and spreads even farther.

I find this unprecedented. The UN SecGen is clearly pointing to the U.S. which had vetoed last week’s ceasefire resolution in the UN Security Council.

Should the U.S. call for a ceasefire, Israel will have to end its bombing. It should anyway immediately do so because its opponents are ready for the next phase of the fight.

Hezbollah, Hamas and Islamic Jihad leaders discuss how to achieve ‘victory’

The meeting involved Hezbollah’s Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, Hamas deputy chief Saleh al-Arouri and Islamic Jihad chief Ziad al-Nakhala, Hezbollah said in a statement. It did not say when the meeting took place. “An assessment was made of the international positions being taken and what the parties of the Axis of Resistance must do … to realise a real victory for the resistance in Gaza and Palestine and to halt the brutal aggression,” Hezbollah said.

If Hizbullah unleashes its missile force against Israel’s infrastructure and industrial areas, the Zionist entity is done.

Gaza, a Town Underground

More information appears especially in the German media about the Hamas tunnels, which is preparing for a ground operation by the Israeli army. Tunnels with a total length of approximately 500 km have been dug in the Gaza Strip. Most often it is 2 meters high and 2 meters wide. But there is more. In total there are more than a thousand such tunnels, they call it 1300.

In the tunnels there are Hamas militants, all the necessary supplies, water, food, generators, weapons depots.

It is precisely because of the fear of Hamas militants from tunnels and apartment buildings that the Israeli army is afraid to launch a ground operation. Israel is simply afraid of losing this war.
