Adrian Boke (France): I am a Witness to the War Crimes of the Kyiv Regime

via https://en.golos.eu

Machine translation: Golos

Video: https://youtu.be/Mg2OfTsp5XM

On the air of the project «GOLOS.EU» and YouTube a French journalist answered the host’s questions Adrian Boke.

He spoke about what really happened in Bucha, and why today not a single Western journalist talks about this event. Who are the “Azovites”, what tasks do they perform in the conflict in Donbas, and why are the civilian population of Ukraine afraid of them? Why, after the journalist visited the secret prison in Yelenovka, where the Azov radicals were kept, was the Ukrainian Armed Forces launched a missile attack on it?

Here are the main quotes:

For the Western media, Bucha is “an example of the atrocities of the Russian army.” You were in Bucha and you have a different opinion about it …

“I went to Ukraine as a medical volunteer – I joined my French friends (doctors and ex-military) who were there to help children… [So] Bucha is a play. I was a witness: after the Ukrainian army recaptured Bucha in April [2022], they brought corpses there from other cities: they were specially moved there and positioned in such a way as to make a sensation. They tied the hands of the corpses with a perfectly clean white cloth to make the world believe that the Russians had mercilessly shot those who had surrendered. It’s all a complete lie.”

Are you sure about that?

“I was in Bucha (directly in the city itself), I witnessed this production with corpses; and saw how they placed several corpses in one place to make them believe that there were a lot of dead. I have seen it with my own eyes, and have even been in numerous trials about it. Do you want to know the truth [firsthand]? Discuss these issues with the population of Bucha – they explain to you that this was done by the “Azov” and the SBU officers, who took the lives of civilians, in order to then blame the Russian military for these crimes … In fact, they killed their own Ukrainian brothers even for that they gave water to the Russian military… The purpose of all this is to attract the attention and sympathy of the West and the United States, to demonize the Russians in order to show them as ruthless devils, and the Ukrainians as unfortunate victims. That is, the point was to distribute the roles on stage: this is bad, and this is good … Another proof that Bucha is a production: France and some other countries sent special forensic police [to Ukraine] to carry out investigate and find out who killed these civilians. As a result, forensic experts around the world found no evidence that the Russians were involved in the killings of these civilians.

How do the French perceive the events in Ukraine after February 24, 2022?

“There is a huge problem that France knew nothing about the war in Donbass; [until February 24, 2022] most French people had no idea where Ukraine was. Therefore, for them, the war began in February 2022; for them, it looked like Russia’s encroachment on the integrity of Ukraine, because people did not know either the history of Ukraine or the history of Donbass. [It was a discovery for me] after arriving in Ukraine that the Ukrainian population was in constant fear of their own military, of the Azov military formation and of their own government. It is not normal that the population is afraid of their own army.”

Tell us about your work with the Azov people.

“[In Ukraine] I had to work with representatives of Azov, with its commanders – then I discovered Azov from the inside; and realized that “these guys” are everywhere: in the government, in the military administration. They control almost 90% of the country, which is extremely dangerous for Ukraine. I got close to Azov, dined with them at their homes, talked to their families; but I also witnessed their war crimes, torture, racism and anti-Semitism. I saw Azov agents who killed and tortured other people. After that, I realized what Azov was like. These are special agents… Their mission is to torture and kill.”

Did it strike you the most in Ukraine?

“It amazes me that the neo-Nazis of Azov operate without any restrictions from the authorities. It amazes me that neo-Nazis freely exist in the country in 2023. Every third “Azov” wears neo-Nazi tattoos on his body: a swastika, Hitler, SS symbols. In addition to tattoos, their very desire to hurt Jews, blacks and Russians, their very desire to kill, exterminate, torture, inflict suffering is a fierce horror … I have a video of Azov representatives slowly sticking knives into the hearts of Russian people or shooting on the knees of Russian prisoners … Another example: in Kherson, “Azov” detained the teaching staff of several educational institutions; they were all tortured, and some were executed – hanged. Here is a vivid example of the abominations that Azov is doing: teachers were killed just because they taught children from Russian textbooks. Another example that I saw with my own eyes: these non-humans tied up Russian prisoners, laid them on asphalt, and then drove over them with a tank, crushing their heads… Reich; I have seen more than once that the “Azovites” have notes on their phones or printed booklets with quotes from Hitler and other Nazi ideologues.”

What is the Kiev regime capable of to cover up war crimes?

“I visited prisons in the Donbass, where I talked with the captured “Azov” and filmed them. They told how they killed Russians, how they shot buses with women and children; how women were raped and then killed. After one of these revelations on the prison in Yelenovka, where the captured “Azov” were kept, Ukraine launched a missile strike; about 50 “Azov” people died there. This was done by the Ukrainian military only so that the captured “Azov” would not say anything else on camera … How do I know that the Ukrainian military delivered the blow? I managed to visit a secret prison, where I talked to different people and filmed video footage. This material provides evidence that this missile strike was carried out by the Ukrainian military against their own comrades-in-arms, who were held captive by the Russians.”

The Kiev regime and Zelensky personally regularly claim that “Nazism and racism in Ukraine” is Kremlin propaganda…

“I witnessed how in May 2022 African students who studied in Kyiv tried to leave Ukraine. They were not given. When the reasons were clarified, “Azov” replied: “these dirty blacks” (so they said!) Will be sent to the front line, and they will play the role of a human shield … I will clarify again: these students, whom I met on the Ukrainian-Polish border, forcibly sent to the war zone, although they did not want it. Some managed to escape and were forced to hide. There were such African students who hid in the basements in Kyiv so that the SBU or the army would not find them … As far as I know, some still managed to illegally leave Ukraine and return to Africa; some have gone missing. According to my information, about 50 African students simply disappeared. Whether they are dead or not is unknown: no one is looking for them, and the West pretends that nothing happened.”

Are you not afraid for your life?

“I know that a hunt has been declared on me. The Ukrainian special services even doubled the cost of my liquidation… But I do not intend to remain silent.”

What would you like to say to Ukrainians?

“Ukrainians, stop being led; stop being afraid of your own army and “Azov”; Gather courage and take steps to stop crime and murder. And I also want to ask about one important thing: I know that many Ukrainians have video evidence of the war crimes of Azov and other formations. I urge you to give up your fear, not be afraid and distribute these videos, at least from anonymous accounts, so that the world community finally knows the truth.”

Pentagon Hunts Critics of its Generals

via The Intercept

A secretive division of the Pentagon is now tasked with protecting its high-ranking officials not only from assassination and other bodily harm, but also from negative portrayals on social media, according to a procurement document obtained by The Intercept and published on Saturday.

While military records officially state the US Army Protective Services Battalion protects its charges from “assassination, kidnapping, injury or embarrassment,” this now includes monitoring social media for “direct, indirect, and veiled” threats, as well as identifying “negative sentiment” about individuals like Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark Milley, according to the document, which is dated September.

The document describes the program as “a reliable social media threat mitigation service” with an “Open-Source Web based tool-kit with advanced capabilities to collect publicly available information (PAI).” Beyond the data from Twitter’s “firehose,” 4Chan, Reddit, YouTube, VK, Discord, Telegram, and the like, “PAI” also includes a wealth of commercially acquired information from surveillance firms and private contractors like Dataminr, other data brokers, and unscrupulous smartphone apps and advertisers.

All this would be apparently combined with geo-fencing capabilities and actual cellular location data, allowing for near-exact pinpointing of the location of the supposedly “signal-rich discussions from elicit threat-actor communities” – keeping in mind that the “threats” discussed in the procurement document potentially include unkind tweets about current and retired generals.

The entirety of this information hoard – including CCTV feeds, radio stations, personal records, even individuals’ webcams – would be accessible through a “universal search selector,” according to the document.

The document specified the need for a two-way stream, requiring the contractor to maintain “the anonymity and security needed to conduct publicly accessible information research through misattribution” by “using various egress points globally to mask their identity.” The contract was given to SEWP Solutions LLC, described as the only company capable of “tunnel[ing] into specific countries/cities like Moscow, Russia or Beijing, China and come out on a host nation internet domain.

The procurement document specifies that it does not want the Pentagon advertising its interest in violating the online and, potentially, physical privacy of those it deems threats to the reputation of generals retired and current. It is stamped “Controlled Unclassified Information”/FEDCON, meaning it is not meant to be seen by those outside the federal government and contractor system.

The revelation that still more intrusive powers are being sought by the national security state has outraged privacy advocates. “Expressing ‘positive or negative sentiment towards a senior high-risk individual’ cannot be deemed sufficient grounds for government agencies to conduct surveillance operations, even going as far as ‘pinpointing the exact locations’ of individuals,” Ilia Siatitsa of Privacy International told The Intercept.

The ability to express opinions, criticize, make assumptions, or form value judgments – especially regarding public officials – is a quintessential part of democratic society.

West Pressured Countries to Cut Ties with Russia

Countries were threatened with sanctions if they decided to attend the St. Petersburg forum, Russia’s Foreign Ministry claims

The US and its allies threatened countries who decided to send delegations to the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has insisted.

Speaking to TASS news agency on the sidelines of the forum in Russia’s second-largest city on Saturday, Zakharova was asked whether the West had tried to pressure nations that intended to participate in the event.

“There was immense pressure,” she replied, adding that “literally every country”was approached. “They wrote letters. Threats were made during the meetings,”she claimed.

Washington was the “leader” of these efforts, and was helped by other “NATO-centric countries,” the spokeswoman said.

The US and its allies told nations that were planning to attend SPIEF that they “would face consequences, that the next… package of sanctions is just around the corner and that everyone should think twice before participating in events on the territory of Russia,” Zakharova said.

The West has been acting in a similar manner ahead of talks between Moscow and other capitals, or the signing of major business deals between Russian firms and foreign partners, she claimed.

“Every time, curators from the US, UK, the EU either head out in advance to relevant countries… to pressure local officials and business representatives, intimidate, paint scary pictures. Or they come afterwards in order to try to destroy the agreements that had been reached,” Zakharova said.

She claimed that such efforts routinely take place ahead of visits by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to the African continent.

According to Zakharova, the US and its allies target Russia’s international ties in all areas, including “culture, economy, business, politics, media cooperation.

SPIEF, which has been held annually since 1997, welcomed some 17,000 guests from 130 countries this year, the organizers said. With Western nations dropping out of the event due to the conflict in Ukraine, most of the participants came from Asia, including China and India, the Middle East, Latin America and Africa. The United Arab Emirates is the guest of honor of this year’s forum, which closes on Saturday.

Bill Gates Meets the Great Stonewall

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, and wanna be President of the World, visits China, meets with THE President.

Chinese media revealed that this is Xi’s second meeting with a foreign businessman in several years, after Elon Musk.

President Xi Jinping thanked the American billionaire for his long-standing efforts to fight global poverty and for his extensive philanthropic work.

Ed. Note: Watch the body language of the “President of the World”. Unfortunately, we, the hoy poloi, were not informed of why Bill Gates, a nobody, a retired former businessman [sic], who stole other people creative ideas, lied about everything, and was a buddy buddy of Mossad pedophile predator Epstein had any credentials to be in a private audience with President Xi of China. However, his peddling of his creepy ideas of a World Government of Bill Gates, run on the basis of worldwide “health passports” administered by Bill Gates’ Microsoft, seems to have been less then a success, if we are to judge by the body language.  And the same, we hope, for the American 2030 project.

Anti-Europe is Taking Shape in the World

via The Intel-Drop

Only a polycentric world can resist neo-colonizers

The voyage of the Russian Foreign Minister to African countries caused wry smiles among Western journalists. The Economist wrote , for example, that in South Africa, entire industries are determined by … scammers. Allegedly, President Cyril Ramaphosa announced that private business should contribute to the Resource Mobilization Fund to hire external consultants “to create a parallel system of institutions that allows you to work at the moment . ” They say that at the moment the government itself cannot do such work.

American consultancy Edelman : South Africans trust business more than government, media or NGOs. The 40 percentage point gap between trust in business (62%) and trust in government (20%) is larger than in any of the 27 African countries surveyed. And what does South African business demonstrate?

In 2019, at least 183 infrastructure projects in South Africa were thwarted by the construction mafia demanding bribes. The theft of cables from Eskom, Transnet and passenger railways cost the government R50 billion last year alone, equal to the economic contribution of the entire wine industry. André de Ruyter, the former head of the electricity company Eskom , who tried to stamp out bribery, was nearly poisoned in December. “Don’t use a personal coffee mug ,” he advised his successor. The American media write that South Africa is becoming to money laundering what the US Silicon Valley is to venture capital…

All these speeches by Western journalists would be of little value if it were not for this fact: for several years, private firms in South Africa have delegated their employees to help government departments manage by paying them wages. Today, corporate lawyers work in the prosecutor’s office, bankers in the Ministry of Industry, etc.

It would seem, what should Russia do in such a country? However, it is in Africa that anti-Europe is taking shape in response to the humiliation of the era of colonialism. Distrust of the West there deepened decades after the victory of the national liberation revolutions. After all, the West has never abandoned its habits. Thus, Emmanuel Macron, who admitted that the colonization was a “serious mistake”, refused to formally apologize to Africans, citing the fact that three-quarters of African citizens were born after the end of colonialism, and it’s time to turn the page. However, the “book of the past” in Africa will not stop reading as long as the welfare of the African does not compare with the welfare of the French.

The agenda dictated to the needs of the neo-colonizers can only be resisted by a polycentric world that can balance the dictates of the United States and any other decision-making center that is trying to “dictate” something. Hence the new geopolitical opportunities for Russia.

Five days, four countries, two meetings, 13 high-level meetings – this was the third African tour of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. He has visited Kenya, Burundi, Mozambique and South Africa in addition to six other countries (Angola, Eswatini, Eritrea, Mali, Mauritania, Sudan) that he has visited in the last five months.

Outcome. Russia and Burundi will deepen military-technical and humanitarian cooperation; at the second Russia-Africa summit, which will be held in St. Petersburg in July, the partners will sign several agreements in the field of nuclear energy, education, and healthcare. In Kenya, the Russian Foreign Minister held talks with colleagues from South Africa, India, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Brazil and Iran on the criteria for new states to join BRICS. The world is changing, and BRICS is an effective tool for these changes. In Cape Town, in a format closed to the press, a meeting of the “Friends of the BRICS” was held, in which the Foreign Ministers of 12 states of the Global South took part, who expressed their desire to join the group (Argentina, Bangladesh, Venezuela, Gabon, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Comoros Islands, Cuba, UAE, Saudi Arabia). The meeting discussed the prospects for creating a single BRICS currency, the use of local currencies in trade, energy security issues, strengthening arms control, and the negative impact of sanctions on the global economy. Lavrov was applauded in unison for his answer to the US ambassador in South Africa not to interfere in other people’s affairs …

The world is being rebuilt before our eyes, and it is important not only to understand where the new Iron Curtain will pass, but also to do everything possible so that it does not cut off from us that part of the world that is tired of being equal to Washington. The new “redistribution” affects the global interests of the West, and this once again reminds us that Russia should be on the alert, strengthening ties with a new circle of partners outside the collective West.

Is Civil War Inevitable?

Trump was placed “under arrest” today in Miami, and charged with 37 counts of criminal conduct for a possible total of 400 years in prison. What matters here is not whether Trump is good or bad, but that Trump’s arrest is a coup d’état in the United States and another step towards the elimination of democracy. Trump is being arrested not because he is a former US president but because he is a future US president. He is the most popular US politician and is expected to win the next election in 2024. That’s why “they” want to remove him from the electoral slate.

This can lead:

  1. To the Second American Civil War. Or,

  2. To the elimination of democracy in the United States and the elimination of the moral and forceful leadership of the United States in the world and in the Western community. And,

  3. To military adventures by the US leadership, which in turn may lead to a nuclear world war and the destruction of mankind.

The potential for civil war is growing.

The US authorities are trying to arrest, falsely accuse, and exclude from the elections the most popular US politician, Trump, in violation of the spirit and the letter of the laws.

The elections are rigged. Whether Trump won the last election or not, now Biden, the president, is the clear usurper, in trying to eliminate his opponent. One in four Americans think so.

Biden himself is apparently incapable of acting as President of the United States for health reasons and, on his behalf, behind his back, the US government is run by a group of unelected shadow people.

The party system is in crisis. Party activists hate the leadership of their own parties. The parties cannot organize fair primaries.

The media have become the medium of mass lies.

What is more evident is that political repression is gaining momentum.

The Deep State is acting through a system of bureaucracy which is outside the control of the people.

Ditto for the US intelligence agencies, which also are outside of political control.

American society, the leading force of the world, is makes a gasping leap from an industrial society into an unknown new state of . . . kleptocracy.

According to keen observers, the probability of a civil war is not yet 50%, but it has increased significantly in recent years. Thousands of articles have been published about the possibility of a civil war in the United States over the past 5 years and there is a funky feeling in the air, a harbinger of what’s coming.

WHO, EU Launch New Global Vaccine Passport Initiative

By Michael Nevradakis, Ph.D. via Childrens Health Defense

The World Health Organization (WHO) and the European Commission — the executive branch of the European Union (EU) — on Monday launched a “landmark digital health partnership” marking the beginning of the WHO Global Digital Health Certification Network (GDHCN) to promote a global interoperable digital vaccine passport. [category scamdemic – corona virus]
Beginning this month, the WHO will adopt the EU’s system of digital COVID-19certification “to establish a global system that will help facilitate global mobility and protect citizens across the world from on-going and future health threats, including pandemics,” according to Monday’s announcements by the WHO and the European Commission.

The WHO and European Commission claim the GDHCN initiative, which has been in the works since 2021, “will develop a wide range of digital products to deliver better health for all.”
The organizations said the WHO will not collect individuals’ personal data via these digital passports — stating that such data collection “would continue to be the exclusive domain of governments.”
WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus lauded the new agreement:
“Building on the EU’s highly successful digital certification network, WHO aims to offer all WHO Member States access to an open-source digital health tool, which is based on the principles of equity, innovation, transparency and data protection and privacy.
“New digital health products in development aim to help people everywhere receive quality health services quickly and more effectively.”
However, experts who spoke with The Defender said the ramifications of such a system for human liberty and freedom of movement raised concerns.
Independent journalist James Roguski told The Defender the WHO is not waiting for a successful conclusion of these negotiations in order to implement initiatives such as a global digital vaccine passport. He said:
“The announcement by the WHO and the European Commission regarding the launch of their digital health partnership was hardly a surprise. Over a month ago, the WHO quietly published that they were working on ‘operationalizing’ the very things that were being ‘negotiated.’
“This is just one example that clearly shows that the super-secret ‘negotiations’ regarding the International Health Regulations (IHR) are a charade.”
Michael Rectenwald, Ph.D., author of “Google Archipelago: The Digital Gulag and the Simulation of Freedom,” told The Defender that, under the guise of preserving freedom, a digital passport system “means restraints on movement and living for the unvaccinated and forced vaccination to participate in life.”
The announcement of the WHO-European Commission collaboration came just days after the conclusion of the WHO’s annual World Health Assembly (WHA).
While the pandemic treaty and IHR amendments were not finalized at this year’s meeting, high-level WHO officials warned of the risk of a future pandemic and spread of a deadly “Disease X,” and expressed the need to “restrict personal liberties” during a future health emergency.
The EU has been a strong proponent of digital vaccine passports, first launched for its member states in late 2020 — concurrent with the introduction of the COVID-19 vaccines — under the name “Green Pass.” The EU’s experience with the digital passes is noted in Monday’s announcement, which states:
“One of the key elements in the European Union’s work against the COVID-19 pandemic has been digital COVID-19 certificates. To facilitate free movement within its borders, the EU swiftly established interoperable COVID-19 certificates.
“Based on open-source technologies and standards it allowed also for the connection of non-EU countries that issue certificates … becoming the most widely used solution around the world.”
Roguski told The Defender the EU also was among the strongest proponents of vaccine passports during ongoing negotiations for the WHO’s “pandemic treaty” and amendments to the IHR.
“They really want the global digital health certificate,” Roguski told The Defender in March. “Primarily, that’s coming from the European Union.”
‘Pandemic passports a death sentence for millions’
According to Roguski, the EU, during negotiations for the IHR amendments, put forth proposals that seek to “‘normalize’ the implementation of a global digital health certificate.”
The Czech Republic called for Passenger Locator Forms “containing information concerning traveller’s destination,” preferably in digital form, for the purpose of contact tracing.
They also proposed that the WHO’s Health Assembly “may adopt, in cooperation with the International Civil Aviation Organization [ICAO] … and other relevant organisations, the requirements that documents in digital or paper form shall fulfill with regard to interoperability of information technology platforms, technical requirements of health documents, as well as safeguards to reduce the risk of abuse and falsification.”
The WHO lists ICAO as an officially recognized “stakeholder.”
The Czech Republic and the EU proposed documentation not just for vaccination, but “test certificates and recovery certificates” in cases “where a vaccine or prophylaxis has not yet been made available for a disease in respect of which a public health emergency of international concern has been declared.”
Plans for the WHO’s GDHCN have been in the works since at least August 2021, when the WHO released a document titled “Digital documentation of COVID-19 certificates: vaccination status: technical specifications and implementation guidance, 27 August 2021.”
The GDHCN framework made its way onto the agenda of this year’s WHA, which stated:
“The Secretariat has developed SMART (Standards-based, Machine-readable, Adaptive, Requirements-based, and Testable) Guidelines on the digital documentation of COVID-19 certificates, comprising recommendations on the data, digital functionality, ethics, and trust architecture needed to ensure the interoperability of immunization and health records globally.”
The WHO also announced the successful completion of a “technical feasibility study for establishing a federated global trust network, which tested the ability to interoperate the health content and trust networks across existing regional efforts.”
EU officials have frequently praised themselves over the launch of the bloc’s “Green Pass,” touting how individuals’ privacy would be protected on the app. The introduction of the “Green Pass” was accompanied by statements by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen calling for a “discussion” on mandatory vaccinations in the EU.
One of the EU’s stated priorities as part of its 2019-2024 five-year plan is to create a “Digital Identity for all Europeans.” Namely, each EU citizen and resident would have access to a “personal digital wallet,” which would include national ID cards, birth and medical certificates, and drivers’ licenses.
These proposals and initiatives appear to be closely aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and in particular, Target 16.9, which calls for the provision of a digital legal identity for all, including newborns, by 2030.
Tedros said the SDGs are “our north star,” while addressing this year’s WHA.
Rectenwald called “pandemic passports” a “death sentence for millions.” He told The Defender:
“Despite the studies demonstrating that vaccines to curb pandemics have been deadly and useless, the WHO is doubling down on vaccine mandates.
“Pandemic passports equal a death sentence for millions and the abrogation of rights for the non-compliant. The WHO should be stopped before it completes the construction of a global totalitarian system.”

Lack of Russian Gas Can Bring German Industry to Standstill

via RT

Germany will have to scale back or even shut down its industrial capacity if the deliveries of Russian natural gas through Ukraine stop next year, Economy Minister Robert Habeck said on Monday.

“There is no secure scenario for how things will turn out,” Habeck said at the Ostdeutsches Wirtschaftsforum (OWF), an economic conference in Bad Saarow. Policymakers in Berlin need to avoid “making the same mistake again”by assuming that energy shortages would not affect the economy, he said, as cited by Bloomberg.

Even though Kiev has accused Moscow of aggression, Russia continues to abide by the gas delivery contract and pay Ukraine transit fees. However, given the current circumstances, it is extremely unlikely the contract will be renewed once it expires towards the end of 2024.

While Berlin claimed to have completely foregone Russian gas imports as of January, other EU countries still rely on Moscow for their energy needs. If Austria, Slovakia, Italy, and Hungary end up cut off, EU’s gas-sharing rules would require Germany to come to their aid, which would create problems for industrial users, Habeck explained.

Habeck argued that it was “essential” to build new liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminals on the Baltic coast, which would enable Berlin to import gas from the US and the Middle East. Local residents and environmental groups have sought to block the construction.

Habeck had championed alternative energy sources for months after Russia launched its military operation in Ukraine in February 2022. The Green Party politician became notorious for advising Germans to take fewer and shorter showers, because saving on hot water would “annoy” Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“Germany developed a business model that was largely based on dependence on cheap Russian gas,” Habeck told reporters last August, arguing that this also created a dependence on the “enemy” of international law and liberal democracy. That model had “failed and it is not coming back,” he said.

Five weeks later, the Nord Stream pipelines supplying Russian natural gas to Germany were damaged in a series of underwater explosions. American journalist Seymour Hersh has accused the US of ordering and carrying out the sabotage, while Washington and its allies have tried to blame Moscow or speculate about “pro-Ukrainian groups” that might have done it, with or without Kiev’s official blessing.

American Hubris Burns On the Plains Of Zaporozhie

Awful Avalanche

Ukraine War Day #474:

by yalensis via Awful Avalanche

Dear Readers:

“Disillusionment, confusion, shock, panic — this is how one must describe the West’s reaction to the first days of the long-awaited Ukrainian counteroffensive…” Pundit Vladimir Kornilov goes on to point out that the Ukrainians did exactly what they were told to do, and performed exactly as they were trained: A blitzkrieg consisting of a de-miner followed by Western tanks. With this technology, they were assured that they could punch their way to Crimea within a week.

Weeks before the “blitzkrieg”, this was exactly how media talking heads such as David Petraeus described the upcoming victory. “Everything will be decided in the course of 72-96 hours,” Petraeus assured those American philistines who still watch TV. But then, when the blitzkrieg failed miserably and left literally billions of dollars of Western technology burning on the plains of Zaporozhie, Western pundits made a swift turn and blamed the clueless Ukrainians: “Why would they just bunch up their tanks like that?” Why? Because that was how they were trained. Because it’s the only way to cross a mine field. Because these same Western idiots had assured their clients that their sapper machines were the best, their tanks were the best, their electronic warfare was the best; the Russians would just fold and run away at the sight of these magnificent machines…

But not to worry: By Sunday (yesterday), the Ukrainians had already drawn the correct conclusions: They stated that they would no longer try to butt head-first into Russian defenses like a crazy goat. Instead, they would go back to just snipping around the edges and the flanks. The pro-Ukrainian blogosphere quickly followed suit and bucked itself up. “Oh well, shit happens. Lessons learned.” Human denial is a very powerful emotion. Quickly recovering from their shock-denial stage of the previous days, the pro-Ukies started trumpeting and hooting like monkeys when their team was able to a few kilometers forward on one of the flanks and was able to plant its flag (albeit temporarily) in an abandoned village. (Still in the Security Zone, still not reaching even the First Line of Defense.)

The Danger Of Over-Confidence

Along those same lines, I have what I think is a rather good opinion piece written by some anonymous Russian blogger who goes by the nik “Voice of Mordor”. He analyzes Ukrainian mistakes (actually NATO mistakes) and attributes at least part of this to hubris-induced wrong conclusions which they drew from their previous successes (last fall) in the Kharkov offensive.

I think we all remember, especially those of us rooting for Russia, the dismay we felt as we watched helplessly, as Russian lines broke like twigs in a hurricane, first at Balakilya, then Kupiansk, then, Izium, and Liman. There was a lot of copium drunk at the time on the Team Russia benches, and certainly a lot of ‘splainin’ to do. But in the end, it was a rout, pure and simple. However, as we see now, that past defeat, paradoxically, may have been the father (or addled step-father) of more recent Russian victories. Not such a paradox after all: If it seems that the NATO side drew all the wrong lessons from their own successes, then there may be something in this that almost hints of Providence. Or at least the dialectics of the Greek Tragedy genre.

The other major theme of Mordor’s op-ed is the Russian soldier and the way he has regained his courage. There is obviously a psychological factor in every army. At the start of the war the average Russian soldier may not have been fully informed of the history, or why he had to fight. There was some shyness about slaying fellow Slavs and “brother” Ukrainians. It seems that psychological barrier has been crossed, so now everybody can just go at it…

Wrong Conclusions

The NATO Generals watched this operation unfold, and drew some critical conclusions from it. Erroneous conclusions.

Also taking into account, that the West does not factor into its equation Ukrainian human losses, the conclusions drawn have proven to be doubly tragic for the Ukrainians. Another factor that played its role here is the famous Ukrainian propensity to cargo-cult worship Western military technology. Which the Ukrainians regard as the best in the world, a sort of undefeatable miracle-weapon. And this in spite of the fact that they actually have real experience with these weapons, which should have offered counter proof. For example, the “Javelins” proved to be something less than a miracle-weapon. As did the HIMARS. With this experience under their belts, one would have thought they would know better than to start worshiping American and German tanks.

When they were planning their offensive on the Zaporozhie front, the NATO generals relied on the Kharkov experience. Which was a huge, critical mistake on their part. In addition to which, they assumed that the Russians would be terrified at the sight of huge columns of Western armor, accompanied by hordes of Ukrainian cannon fodder. They would take fright and run, like they always do.

But this time they didn’t run. The Russian soldier did not take fright. He did not run. He stood and he fought. He fought bravely and rather professionally. I can’t say to what extent a role was played here, by the historical memory of the Russian soldier. When he saw German armored “cats” trundling along Russian soil.

In any case, the results of the third night of the Ukrainian counteroffensive was such, that the Western media can speak about it only through clenched teeth; or just remain silent, as if pretending that nothing happened. Because the main part of the Ukrainian attackers were not able to make it even through the grey zone, let alone to the First Defensive Line of the Russian forces. The few that did make it that far, were only able to hold out for a couple of hours at the most, before being thrown back to where they started. And all of the Western “miracle-weapons”, all these famous “Leopards” and “Bradleys” are burning in rather impressive numbers.

Now, we all understand that it is not over yet. The fight continues. The UAF still possesses a lot of cannon fodder, and still commands a lot of armor. It is possible that, at some point, the Ukrainian and NATO generals will throw everything they have into a single point, completely reckless in regard to losses, which they never cared about anyway.

But when that happens, the Russians are waiting for them. The Russian soldier is ready for this. Because there is one interesting factor that I have noticed: The Russian soldier has regained his courage. He is not just smashing the enemy, but he is doing this in the same way that his forefathers did in 1943, in 1944, and in 1945. He knows that he is going to win. He is angry, he is merry, he is confident in himself.

And so, my Dear Pans, Welcome! Welcome to hell.
