Burning Globalist Structures to Save the Globalist ‘Liberal Order’

Biden, finally, has his foreign policy ‘success’: Europe is walling itself off from Russia, China, and the emerging integrated Asian market.

In its triple strike of sanctions on Russia, the EU initially was notlooking to collapse the Russian financial system. Far from it: Its first instinct was to find the means to continue purchasing its energy needs (made all there more vital by the state of the European gas reserves hovering close to zero). Purchases of energy, special metals, rare earths (all needed for high tech manufacture) and agricultural products were to be exempted. In short, at first brush, the sinews of the global financial system were intended to remain intact.

The main target rather, was to block the core to the Russian financial system’s ability to raise capital – supplemented by specific sanctions on Alrosa, a major player in the diamond market, and Sovcomflot, a tanker fleet operator.

Then, last Saturday morning (26 February) everything changed. It became a blitzkrieg: “We’re waging an all-out economic and financial war on Russia. We will cause the collapse of the Russian economy”, said the French Finance Minister, Le Maire (words, he later said, he regretted).

That Saturday, the EU, the U.S. and some allies acted to freeze the Russian Central Bank’s foreign exchange reserves held overseas. And certain Russian banks (in the end seven) were to be expelled from SWIFT financial messaging service. The intent was openly admitted in an U.S. unattributable briefing: It was to trigger a ‘bear raid’ (ie. an orchestrated mass selling) of the Rouble on the following Monday that would collapse the value of the currency.

The purpose to freezing the Central Bank’s reserves was two-fold: First, to prevent the Bank from supporting the Rouble. And secondly, to create a commercial bank liquidity scarcity inside Russia to feed into a concerted campaign over that weekend to scare Russians into believing that some domestic banks might fail – thus prompting a rush at the ATMs, and start a bank-run, in other words.

More than two decades ago, in August 1998, Russia defaulted on its debt and devalued the Rouble, sparking a political crisis that culminated with Vladimir Putin replacing Boris Yeltsin. In 2014, there was a similar U.S. attempt to crash the Rouble through sanctions and by engineering (with Saudi Arabian help) a 41% drop in oil prices by January 2015.

Plainly, last Saturday morning when Ursula von der Leyen announced that ‘selected’ Russian banks would be expelled from SWIFT and the international financial messaging system; and spelled out the near unprecedented Russian Central Bank reserve freeze, we were witnessing the repeat of 1998. The collapse of the economy (as Le Maire said), a run on the domestic banks and the prospect of soaring inflation. This combination was expected to conflate into a political crisis – albeit one intended, this time, to see Putin replaced, vice Yeltsin – aka regime change in Russia, as a senior U.S. think-tanker proposed this week.

In the end, the Rouble fell, but it did not collapse. The Russian currency rather, after an initial drop, recovered about half its early fall. Russians did queue at their ATMs on Monday, but a full run on the retail banks did not materialise. It was ‘managed’ by Moscow.

What occurred on that Saturday which prompted the EU switch from moderate sanctions to become a full participant in a financial war à outrance on Russia is not clear: It may have resulted from intense U.S. pressure, or it came from within, as Germany seized an opportune alibi to put itself back on the path of militarisation for the third time in the past several decades: To re-configure Germany as a major military power, a forceful participant in global politics.

And that – very simply – could not have been possible without tacit U.S. encouragement.

Ambassador Bhadrakumar notes that the underlying shifts made manifest by von der Leyen on Saturday “herald a profound shift in European politics. It is tempting, but ultimately futile, to contextually place this shift as a reaction to the Russian decision to launch military operations in Ukraine. The pretext only provides the alibi, whilst the shift is anchored on power play and has a dynamic of its own”. He continues,

“Without doubt, the three developments — Germany’s decision to step up its militarisation [spending an additional euro100 billion]; the EU decision to finance arms supplies to Ukraine, and Germany’s historic decision to reverse its policy not to supply weapons to conflict zones — mark a radical departure in European politics since World War II. The thinking toward a military build-up, the need for Germany to be a “forceful” participant in global politics and the jettisoning of its guilt complex and get “combat ready” — all these by far predate the current situation around Ukraine”.

The von der Leyen intervention may have been opportunism, driven by a resurgence of SPD German ambition (and perhaps by her own animus towards Russia, stemming from her family connection to the SS German capture of Kiev), yet its consequences are likely profound.

Just to be clear, on one Saturday, von der Leyen pulled the switch to turn off principal parts to Global financial functioning: blocking interbank messaging, confiscating foreign exchange reserves and the cutting the sinews of trade. Ostensibly this ‘burning’ of global structures is being done (like the burning of villages in Vietnam) to ‘save’ the liberal Order.

However, this must be taken in tandem with Germany’s and the EU decision to supply weapons (to not just any old ‘conflict zone’) but specifically to forces fighting Russian troops in Ukraine. The ‘Kick Ass’ parts to those Ukrainian forces ‘resisting’ Russia are neo-Nazi forces with a long history of committing atrocities against the Russian-speaking Ukrainian peoples. Germany will be joining with the U.S. in training these Nazi elements in Poland. The CIA has been doing such since 2015. (So, as Russia tries to de-Nazify Ukraine, Germany and the EU are encouraging European volunteers to join in a U.S.-led effort to use Nazi elements to resist Russia, just as in the way Jihadists were trained to resist Russia in Syria).

What a paradox! Effectively von der Leyen is overseeing the building of an EU ‘Berlin Wall’ – albeit with its purpose inverted now – to separate the EU from Russia. And to complete the parallel, she even announced that Russia Today and Sputnikbroadcasts would be banned across the EU. Europeans can be allowed only to hear authorised EU messaging – (however, a week into the Russian invasion, cracks are appearing in this tightly-controlled western narrative – “Putin is NOT crazy and the Russian invasion is NOT failing”, warns a leading U.S. military analyst in the Daily Mail. Simply “[b]elieving Russia’s assault is going poorly may make us feel better but is at odds with the facts”, Roggio writes. “We cannot help Ukraine if we cannot be honest about its predicament”).

So Biden, finally, has his foreign policy ‘success’: Europe is walling itself off from Russia, China, and the emerging integrated Asian market. It has sanctioned itself from ‘dependency’ on Russian natural gas (without prospect of any immediate alternatives) and it has thrown itself in with the Biden project. Next up, the EU pivot to sanctioning China?

Will this last? It seems improbable. German industry has a long history for staging its own mercantile interests before wider geo-pollical ambitions – before, even, EU interests. And in Germany, the business class effectively is the political class and needs competitively-priced energy.

Whilst the rest of the world shows little or no enthusiasm to join with sanctions on Russia (China has ruled out sanctions on Russia), Europe is in hysteria. This will not fade quickly. The new ‘Iron Curtain’ erected in Brussels may last years.

But what of the unintended consequences to last Saturday’s ‘sanctions Blitzkrieg’: the ‘unknowable unknowns’ in Rumsfeld’s famous mantra? The unprecedented switch-off affecting a key part of the Globalist system did not download into a neutral, inert context – It developed into an emotionally hyper-charged atmosphere of Russophobia.

Whereas EU states had hoped to spare Russian energy shipments, they did not take account of the frenzy raised against Russia. The oil market has gone on strike, acting as if energy were already in the frame for Western sanctions: Oil tankers had already started to avoid Russian ports because of sanctions fears, and rates for oil tankers on Russian crude routes have exploded as much as nine-fold in the past few days. But now, amid growing fears of falling foul of complex restrictions in different jurisdictions, refiners and banks are balking at purchasing any Russian oil at all, traders and others involved in the market say. Market players fear too that measures that target oil exports directly could be imposed, should fighting in Ukraine intensify.

Commodity markets have been in turmoil since the Special Military Operation began. European natural gas jumped as much as 60% on Wednesday, as buyers, traders and shippers avoid Russian gas. A combination of sanctions and commercial decisions by shippers and insurers to steer clear has cut that contribution to global supplies sharply over the last week. A default cascade by western companies is perfectly possible. And Supply line disruption is inevitable.

Many will be affected by the commodity turmoil, but with Russia providing 25% of global wheat supplies, the 21% hike in wheat and 16% rise in corn prices since 1 January will represent a disaster for many states in the Middle East among others.

All this disruption to markets comes even before Moscow responds with its own countermeasures. They have been silent so far – but what if Moscow demands that future payments for energy are to be made in Yuan?

In sum, the changes set out by von der Leyen and the EU, with surging crude oil costs, could potentially tip global markets into crisis, and set off spiralling inflation. Cost inflation created by energy costs spiralling higher and food disruptions are not so easily susceptible to monetary remedies. If the daily drama of the war in Ukraine starts to fade from public view, and inflation persists, the political cost of von der Leyen’s Saturday drama is likely to be European-wide recession.

“Since well before the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Europeans have been struggling under the weight of runaway energy bills”, OilPrice.com notes. In Germany, for some, one month’s energy costs the same as they used to pay for a whole year; in the UK the government has raised the price cap for energy bills by a whopping 54%, and in Italy a recent 40% domestic energy cost hike could now nearly double.

The New York Times describes this impact on local businesses and industries as nothing short of “frightening”, as all kinds of small businesses across Europe (prior to last week’s events) have been forced to cease their operations as energy costs outweigh profits. Large industries have not been immune to sticker shock either. “Almost two-thirds of the 28,000 companies surveyed by the Association of German Chambers of Commerce and Industry this month rated energy prices as one of their biggest business risks … For those in the industrial sector, the figure was as high as 85 percent.”

One recalls that old prediction from the Middle East, that western values would turn against the West itself, and ultimately devour it.

Russia’s Attack On Ukraine Represents A Demand For A New World Order

Authored by Gail Tverberg via Our Finite World,

Russia’s attack on Ukraine represents a demand for a new world order that, over the long term, will support higher prices for fossil fuels, especially oil. Such an economy would probably be centered on Russia and China. The rest of the world economy, to the extent that it continues to exist, will largely have to get along without fossil fuels, other than the fossil fuels that countries continue to produce for themselves. Population and living standards will fall in most of the world.

If a Russia-and-China-centric economy can be developed, the US dollar will no longer be the world’s reserve currency. Trade will be in the currency of the new Russia-China block. Outside of this block, local currencies will play a dominant role. Most of today’s debt will ultimately be defaulted upon; to the extent that this debt is replaced, it will be replaced with debt in local currencies.

As I see the situation, the underlying problem is the fact that, on a world basis, energy consumption per capita is shrinking. Energy consumption is essential for creating goods and services.

The shrinking amount of energy per person means that, on average, fewer and fewer finished goods and services can be produced for each person. Some countries do better than average; others do worse. With low fossil fuel prices, Russia has been faring worse than average; it wants to remedy the situation with long-term higher energy prices. If Russia can start transferring its energy exports to China, perhaps the new Russia-China economy, with limited support from the rest of the world, can afford to pay Russia the high prices for fossil fuels that Russia requires to maintain its economy.

In this post, I will try to explain what I see is happening.

[1] It appears that Russia now fears that it is near collapse, not too different from the collapse of the central government of the Soviet Union in 1991. Such a collapse would lead to a huge drop in Russia’s living standards, even from today’s relatively low level.

If we look back at the Soviet Union’s energy consumption, we see a strange pattern. The Soviet Union’s energy consumption rose rapidly in the period after World War II. It became a military rival of the US, as its energy consumption grew in the 1965 to 1985 period. Its energy consumption leveled off before the central government collapsed in 1991. In fact, energy consumption has never gotten back to its level in the late 1980s.

[2] The thing that seems to have been behind the 1991 collapse is the same thing that seems to be behind Russia’s current fear of collapse: continued low oil prices.

When we look back at inflation-adjusted oil prices, we see that a long period of low prices preceded this collapse. These low prices were harmful in many ways. They reduced funds for reinvestment, which led to the collapse in oil supply. They reduced the funds available to pay wages. They also reduced the tax revenue that the Soviet Union could collect.

I believe that these chronically low oil prices ultimately brought down the top layer of the government of the Soviet Union. This is because of the physics of the situation. It takes energy to provide the services of the top level of the government. As the total energy that could be purchased by the system fell because of low prices received for exports, it became impossible to support this top level of governmental services. This top layer was less essential than the lower levels of government, so it fell away.

In recent times, there has also been a long period of low prices, since about 2013:

Unless this pattern of low prices can be reversed quickly, Russia as a political entity could collapse. Exports of all of the goods it now produces would likely fall.

[3] While oil prices depend on “supply and demand,” as a practical matter, demand is very dependent on interest rates and debt levels. The higher the debt level and the lower the interest rate, the higher the price of oil can rise.

If we look back at Figure 4, we can see that before the US subprime housing bubble popped in 2008, inflation-adjusted oil prices were able to rise to $157 per barrel, adjusted to the 2020 price level. Once the debt bubble popped, inflation-adjusted oil prices fell to $49 per barrel. It was at this low point (and correspondingly low prices for many other commodities) that the US started its program of Quantitative Easing (QE) to lower interest rates.

After two years of QE, oil prices were back above $140 per barrel, in inflation-adjusted prices, but these soon started sliding down. By the time oil prices dropped to $120 per barrel, oil companies started to complain that prices were falling too low to meet all of their needs, including the need to drill in ever less productive areas. Now we are at a point where interest rates are about as low as they can go. Short-term interest rates are near zero, which is where they were in the late 1930s.

The quantity of funds in peoples’ checking and savings accounts is at an extraordinarily high level, as well. This is partly because of the availability of debt at these low interest rates.

Thus, even before the Ukrainian invasion, oil prices were raised about as high as they could go, through low interest rates and generous debt availability. With all this stimulus, Brent Spot Oil prices in January 2022 averaged $86.51 in January 2022. Even now, with all the disruption of the attack by Russia against Ukraine, oil prices are below the $120 threshold that producers seem to need. This price issue, plus the corresponding low-price issues for natural gas and coal, is the problem that Russia is concerned about.

Prices for imported coal and natural gas have bounced very high in the last few months, but no one expects these high prices to last. For one thing, they are too high for the European manufacturers that use imported coal or natural gas to stay in business. For example, producers that create urea fertilizer using natural gas find that the price of fertilizer produced in this way is way too high for farmers to afford. For another, the electricity produced by burning the high-priced natural gas or coal tends to be too expensive for European households to afford.

[4] The fundamental problem behind recent low oil prices is the fact that the current mix of consumers cannot afford goods and services produced using the high oil prices that producers, such as Russia, need to operate, pay high enough wages, and do adequate reinvestment.

When the price of oil was very low, back before 1970 (see Figure 3), it was relatively easy for consumers to afford goods and services made with oil. This was the period when the world economy was growing rapidly, and many people could afford to purchase automobiles and buy the oil products needed to operate them.

Once the cost of oil extraction started rising because of depletion, it became more and more difficult to keep prices both:

1. High enough for oil producers, such as Russia, and

2. Low enough to make affordable goods for consumers, as was possible prior to 1970

To try to hide the increasingly difficult problem of keeping prices both high enough for producers and low enough for consumers, central banks have lowered interest rates and encouraged the use of more debt. The idea is that if a person can buy a fuel-efficient car at a low enough interest rate and over a long enough term, perhaps this will make the vehicle more affordable. Similarly, interest rates on home mortgages have fallen to very low levels. All of this, plus the fact that debt is used to finance new factories and mines, leads to the relationship we saw in Figure 4 between oil prices and debt availability, related to interest rates.

[5] No one knows precisely how much oil, coal and natural gas can be extracted because the quantity that can be extracted depends on the extent of the price rise that can be tolerated without plunging the economy into recession.

If prices of these fossil fuels can rise very high (say, $300 per barrel for oil, and correspondingly high prices for other fossil fuels), a huge amount of fossil fuel can be extracted. Conversely, if energy prices cannot stay above the equivalent of $80 per barrel oil for very long without a serious recession, then we may already be very close to the end of available fossil fuel extraction. Both oil and gas producers and coal producers can be expected to go out of business because prices do not leave a sufficient margin for the required investment in new fields to offset the depletion of existing fields. Renewables will falter, as well, because both building and maintaining renewables requires fossil fuels.

The amount of resources of any kind (fossil fuels and minerals such as lithium, uranium, copper and zinc) that can be extracted depends upon the extent of depletion that the economy can tolerate. Depletion of any kind of resource means that a bigger effort (more workers, more machinery, more energy products) is required to extract a given quantity of each resource. It is clear that the entire economy cannot be transferred to the extraction of fossil fuels and mineral resources. For example, some workers and resources are needed for growing and transporting food. This puts a limit on how much depletion can be tolerated.

What Russia (as well as every other oil producer) would like is a way to get the tolerable oil price up significantly higher, for example, to $150 per barrel, so that more oil can be extracted. The hope is that a Russia-and-China-centric economy might be able to do this. Ideally, the tolerable maximum price for coal and natural gas would rise, as well.

[6] Europe, in particular, cannot afford high oil prices. If interest rates are increased soon, this will make the problem even worse. China seems to have definite advantages as an economic partner.

Europe is already having difficulty tolerating very high prices of imported natural gas and coal. Rising oil prices will add even more stress. Central banks are planning to raise interest rates. These higher interest rates will make loan payments more expensive. These higher interest rates will tend to push Europe’s economy further toward recession.

Given the problems with Europe as an energy importer, China would seem to have the possibility of being a better customer that can perhaps tolerate higher prices. For one thing, China is more efficient in its use of energy products than Europe. For example, many homes in the southern half of China are not heated in winter. People instead dress warmly inside their homes in winter. Also, homes and businesses in northern China are sometimes heated with waste heat from nearby coal-fired electricity plants. This is a very efficient approach to heating.

China also uses more coal in its energy mix than Europe. Historically, coal has been much less expensive than oil. What is needed is a low average price of energy. A small amount of high-priced oil can be tolerated in an economy that uses mostly coal in its energy mix. When all costs are counted, wind and solar are very high-priced energy sources, which contributes to Europe’s problems.

In recent years, China’s consumption of energy products has been growing very rapidly. Perhaps, in the view of Russia, China can use high-priced fossil fuel better than other parts of the world.

[7] Russia realized that the rest of the world is utterly dependent upon its fossil fuel exports. Because of this dependency, as well as the physics-based connection between the burning of fossil fuels and the making of finished goods and services, Russia holds huge power over the world economy.

The world economy should have known about the importance of fossil fuels and the likelihood that the world economy would face depletion issues in the first half of the 21st century, ever since a speech by Rear Admiral Hyman Rickover in 1957. In this speech, Rickover said.

We live in what historians may someday call the Fossil Fuel Age. . .With high energy consumption goes a high standard of living. . . A reduction of per capita energy consumption has always in the past led to a decline in civilization and a reversion to a more primitive way of life.
Current estimates of fossil fuel reserves vary to an astonishing degree. In part this is because the results differ greatly if cost of extraction is disregarded or if in calculating how long reserves will last, population growth is not taken into consideration; or, equally important, not enough weight is given to increased fuel consumption required to process inferior or substitute metals. We are rapidly approaching the time when exhaustion of better grade metals will force us to turn to poorer grades requiring in most cases greater expenditure of energy per unit of metal.
. . . it is an unpleasant fact that according to our best estimates, total fossil fuel reserves recoverable at not over twice today’s unit cost are likely to run out at sometime between the years 2000 and 2050, if present standards of living and population growth rates are taken into account.
I suggest that this is a good time to think soberly about our responsibilities to our descendants – those who will ring out the Fossil Fuel Age. Our greatest responsibility, as parents and as citizens, is to give America’s youngsters the best possible education [including the energy problem of a world with finite resources].

Many people today would conclude that world leaders have done their best to ignore this advice. The likely problem with fossil fuels has been hidden behind an imaginative, but false, narrative that our biggest problem is climate change caused primarily by fossil fuel extraction that can be expected to extend until at least 2100, unless positive steps are made to hold back this extraction.

In this false narrative, all the world needs to do is to move to wind and solar for its energy needs. As I discussed in my most recent post, titled Limits to Green Energy Are Becoming Much Clearer, this narrative of success is completely false. Instead, we seem to be hitting energy limits in the near term because of chronically low prices. Wind and solar are doing very little to help because they cannot be depended upon when needed. Furthermore, the quantity of wind and solar available is far too low to replace fossil fuels.

Few people in America and Europe realize that the world economy is entirely dependent upon Russia’s exports of oil, coal and natural gas. This dependency can be seen in many ways. For example, in 2020, 41% of world natural gas exports came from Russia. Natural gas is especially important for balancing electricity from wind and solar.

North America has historically played only a very small role in natural gas exports; it is questionable whether North America can ramp up its total natural gas production in the future, given the depletion problems being experienced with respect to the extraction of oil and the associated natural gas from shale formations. Continuously high oil prices are necessary to justify ramping up production outside of sweet spots. If drillers consider long-term prospects for oil prices to be too low, the associated natural gas will not be collected.

Europe is especially dependent upon natural gas imports (Figure 9). Its imports of natural gas exceed the exports of Russia and its affiliated countries in the Commonwealth of Independent States, referred to as Russia+ in Figures 8 and 9.

Without the natural gas exports of Russia and its close affiliates, there is no possibility of supplying adequate natural gas exports to the rest of the world.
Diesel fuel, created by refining oil, is another energy product that is in critically short supply, especially in Europe. Diesel fuel is used to power trucks and farm tractors, as well as many European automobiles.

An Argus Media report indicates that Russian supplies account for 50% to 60% of Europe’s seaborne imports of diesel and other gasoil, amounting to amounting to 4 to 6 million tons of fuel per month. It likely would be impossible to replace these imports, using supplies from elsewhere, without bidding the price of these imported fuels up to a much higher price level than today. Even then, countries outside Europe would be left with inadequate diesel supplies.

[8] Russia’s attack on Ukraine seems to have been made for many reasons.

Russia was clearly frustrated with the current situation, with NATO becoming increasingly assertive within Ukraine itself, even though Ukraine is not itself a NATO member. Russia is also aware that in some sense, it has far more power over the world economy than most people realize because the world economy is utterly dependent on Russia’s fossil fuel exports (Section 7). Sanctions against Russia will likely hurt the countries making the sanctions as much or more than they hurt Russia.

There were also several concerns that were specifically Ukrainian giving rise to the attack on Ukraine. There had been long standing conflicts about natural gas pipelines. Was Ukraine taking too much natural gas out as a transit fee? Was it paying the correct fee for the natural gas it used? Ukraine also seems to have mistreated quite a few Russian-speaking Ukrainians over the years.

Russia has become increasingly frustrated with the small share of the world’s output of goods and services that it receives. The way the economic system works today, those who provide “services” seem to receive a disproportionate share of the world’s output of goods and services. Russia, with its extraction of minerals of many kinds, including fossil fuels, has not been well compensated for the great wealth that it brings to the world as a whole.

Over the years, Russia’s great strength has been its military. Perhaps Ukraine would not be too large a country to do battle over. Russia might be able to eliminate some of its irritations with Ukraine. At the same time, it might be able to make changes that would help to raise what have become chronically low fossil fuel prices. The sanctions that other countries would make would tend to push the required changes along more quickly.

If the sanctions really did push Russia down, the result would tend to push the whole world economy toward collapse, because the rest of the world is extremely dependent upon Russia’s fossil fuel exports. In Figure 1, the laws of physics say that there is a proportional response to the quantity of energy “dissipated”; if a greater output of goods and services is desired, more energy input is required. Efficiency changes can somewhat help, but efficiency savings tend to be offset by the higher energetic needs of the more complex system required to achieve these savings.

If energy prices do not rise high enough, we will somehow need to get along with very little or no fossil fuels. It is doubtful that renewables will last very long either because they depend upon fossil fuels for their maintenance and repair.

[9] If higher energy prices cannot be achieved, there is a significant chance that the change in the world order will be in the direction of pushing the world economy toward collapse.

We are living in a world today with shrinking energy resources per capita. We should be aware that we are reaching the limits of fossil fuels and other minerals that we can extract, unless we can somehow figure out a way to get the economy to tolerate higher prices.

The danger that we are approaching is that the top levels of governments, everywhere in the world, will either collapse or be overthrown by their unhappy citizens.

The reduced amounts of energy available will push governments in this way. At the same time, programs such as government-funded pension plans and unemployment plans will disappear. Electricity is likely to become intermittent and then fail completely. International trade will shrink back; economies will become much more local.

We were warned that we would be reaching a time period with serious energy problems about now. The first time came in the 1957 Rickover speech discussed in Section 7. The second warning came from the 1972 book, The Limits to Growth by Donella Meadows and others, which documented a computer modeling approach to the problem of limits of a finite world.

The Ukraine invasion may be a push in the direction of more serious energy problems, emerging primarily from the fact that other countries will want to punish Russia. Few people will realize that punishing Russia is a dangerous path; a serious concern is that today’s economy cannot continue in its current form without Russia’s fossil fuel exports.

Most Americans Oppose Sending US Troops To Ukraine To Fight Russia: Polls

Authored by Zachary Steiber via The Epoch Times (emphasis ours),

Most Americans don’t support the idea of sending U.S. troops to Ukraine to help Ukrainian forces fight against Russian personnel, according to surveys.

Just 19 percent of respondents to an Economist/YouGov poll said sending U.S. soldiers to Ukraine is a good idea, compared to 54 percent who thought it was a bad idea. The rest weren’t sure.

More respondents, 33 percent, said it was a good idea to send soldiers to Ukraine “to provide help,” but not to fight Russian soldiers.

Sixty-three percent of respondents to a Reuters/Ipsos poll (pdf) said the United States should not send troops to Ukraine to help defend Ukraine from the Russians. The rest said troops should be sent.

The same division was seen when asked if the United States should conduct airstrikes against Russian forces, and a plurality of respondents to the YouGov survey opposed the United States conducting drone strikes against the Russians.

A majority of respondents to a poll (pdf) from SSRS for CNN also opposed the United States taking military action to stop Russia.

President Joe Biden has vowed not to send U.S. troops to Ukraine in the wake of the Feb. 24 Russian invasion.

“Let me be clear: Our forces are not engaged and will not engage in the conflict with Russian forces in Ukraine,” the Democrat said during his State of the Union speech.

Biden’s administration has sent troops to Europe and the president has committed to joining the fight if Russia attacks any North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) allies.

The administration has also shipped weapons and other military aid to Ukraine to help Ukrainian troops fight back against the invasion.

According to the surveys, most Americans support helping Ukraine.

A plurality of respondents told YouGov that it would be a good idea to impose a no-fly zone over Ukraine, even though many experts have warned that would mean the United States had joined the war on the Ukrainian side.

Many respondents to the polls support providing weapons to Ukraine and imposing additional sanctions against Russia. Nearly half of respondents to YouGov said Ukraine should be allowed to join NATO; about a third were unsure.

A minority of U.S. lawmakers say the United States should impose a no-fly zone or otherwise get more directly involved in the war, but most have said the current level of involvement is appropriate.

The YouGov poll was conducted from Feb. 26 to March 1 and had 1,500 respondents and a margin of error of about 3 percent. The Ipsos survey was conducted from Feb. 28 through March 1, had a sample of 1,005 adults, and had a margin of sampling error of 3.8 percent. The SSRS survey was conducted on Feb. 25 and Feb. 26, with a sample of 1,001 respondents. It had a margin of sampling error of about 4 percent.

Other countries have also opposed so far sending their troops to Ukraine, including 40 percent of British respondents to a poll by Redfield and Winton.

Tidbits on the Margins of Ukraine Crisis – Updated 3

EU is unravelling – it is a generator of negative economic growth and declining shares of global trade. Merkel once pointed out it had 6% global population and 25% global welfare spending – nowhere else on earth does the Unskilled live so well.

It is unravelling fast and stupid politicians with their literature degrees or law studies fail to comprehend GDP growth correlates inversely with energy input prices.

“….Being in a hotel, I have the opportunity to waste my time watching CNN. I am truly fascinated by how completely clueless the so-called experts, generals, politicians, that they have on are about this. They have no understanding of the Russian motives, they have no conception of what is actually going on, and they can’t see what is in front of their faces. My personal favourite is the US senator that says Russia is running out of food because it’s a communist country and therefore needs to conquer more agricultural land. This is a man whose office is bigger than your house, has a staff of dozens with a huge budget and that’s what he thinks is going on…”.

The bottom line is that while Russia’s economy will likely be crippled and soon, once this final dollar lifeline stops, the removal of millions of barrels of oil from the market will lead to an exponential surge in oil prices until we hit the infamous “demand destruction” trigger – the price beyond which there is no more demand… and a global stagflation beckons.

In short, this is one giant game of chicken between Russia and the west, where the former is suffering tremendous pain this very moment, and where the latter is still cruising thanks to a buffer of relatively cheap oil which however will run out shortly and once it does, prices will go vertical triggering an even bigger oil crisis than what the US experienced in the mid-1970s.

***************

The Russians have had EIGHT YEARS, since the USA/Ukraine illegal war crime coup in 2014, to prepare for these western sanctions and Global actions against her.

The idea that any Western action, NOW, is going to be a long term problem for Russia is absurd. They have gamed every Western move possible ad infinitum.

Russia is a big wheat producer/exporter and of course one of the largest energy producers, they have everything needed to survive – heat and food. They are used to live with little at times of difficulty.

At the same time they are taking over the second largest country in Europe with plenty of resources too, so f- sanctions.

And the most important thing – they are liberating the ethnic Russians in southern Ukraine.

*************

How many more days until the Russians cutoff all natural gas exports to countries which are sanctioning them?

According to US polling firm Morning Consult, 34% of Americans who participated in their poll were able to locate Ukraine on a map.

“When asked to find Ukraine on a blank map of Europe, only about 1 in 3 voters correctly located the country, slightly more than the 28 percent who were able to identify Iran on a map roughly two years ago in the wake of a U.S. strike on the Islamic Republic’s most powerful commander.”

They did however do better finding Russia.. Bigger I suppose.

The ultimate effect of “modern” education is to dumb down the people and get them to think only in terms of black and white binaries – “Four legs, good; two legs, bad”. Since the war began, I see headlines everywhere: “Ukraine war – what you need to know”. The blasted reporter tells us what I need to know, not what I want to know. “You need to know only what we allow you to know”. No wonder we have geniuses in positions of power who cannot understand what constitutes Russia’s core national interests. Putin has jolted the world back to some common sense, destroyed the Covid scamdemic and brought back realism back into international relations.

A decision by RF to halt energy exports to adversary nations would have severe economic impact and greatly curtail the ability of importing nations to wage war. The 1973 Arab Oil Embargo drove crude prices up by 300%. See:

Useful Result of Russia’s Imminent Victory

One useful result of Russia’s imminent victory might be renewed attention to UN Charter Article 41. As the G-192 has been saying for years, imposition of sanctions falls under the authority of the Security Council. A blockade is well-known as an act of war. And FINCEN’s more comprehensive blockades are just as facially illegal under the non-intervention principle, which the ICJ considers a sanctified absolute rule of law. Russian use of force is therefore provably legal, necessary and proportional.

Russia might also do what it did in Syria and reinvigorate the Military Staff Committee provided for in Article 47. Simply by treating the Security Council with less contempt than the US does, Russia’s use of force will have full legal justification.

CIA’s braced to lose. CIA prepared for the coming depression with a brilliant choice of puppet ruler. Biden’s the most disposable president in history. He can’t even pass that dementia test that asks who the president is, so no hard feelings when he takes the fall for CIA’s lost war and gets shat out.

https://www.indianpunchline.com/russia-hits-back-on-sanctions-from-hell/

CIA can then install a Republican to keep the war fever going, with associated kleptocratic criminal enterprise.

What’s quite interesting is Putin’s evident confidence that NATO is going to roll over and whimper like a little bitch.

https://www.itv.com/news/2022-03-05/putin-threatens-war-on-any-third-party-creating-ukraine-no-fly-zone

In an interesting self-licking ice cream cone, war propaganda justifies war, and instantly losing the war justifies intensified war propaganda and associated ICCPR-illegal states of emergency. So any CIA geopolitical objective is gone down the shitter. All that remains is justification for increased domestic repressive capacity. That’s what they really need. Because by now we all know we got to put their heads on sticks.

Ukraine Rout

by PATRICK ARMSTRONG via Patrick Armstrong

TACTICS, STRATEGY AND OPERATIONS

So far the Russian military operation in Ukraine has been a reconnaissance in force preceded by the destruction of the supplies and headquarters of the Ukrainian Armed Forces by standoff weapons. The object being to suss out where the Ukrainian forces are, to surround them, to check existing Russian intelligence against reality and, at the same time, destroy known headquarters, air and naval assets, supplies and ammunition depots. And, perhaps, there was the hope that the speed and success (Russian/LDPR forces dominated an area of Ukraine about the size of the United Kingdom in the first week) would force an early end (aka recognition of reality).

At the moment they are readying for the next phase. The long column that so obsessed the “experts” on CNN is the preparation for the next phase. And that is this: “You didn’t get the hint, so now we have to hit you”. The fact that the column has been sitting there indicates that the Russians know they have complete air superiority. Secondly it is a message to the Ukrainian armed forces that it’s over, give up. (And one should never forget that the Russians/Soviets have always been the best at strategic deception, so who knows what’s actually there versus what the images show?)

As far as I can see they’ve created three cauldrons (encirclements). Probably the most important one is the one around Mariupol where the main concentration of Azov, the principal nazi force, is. Another is being established around the main concentration of the Ukrainian Armed Forces facing LDPR. And there appears to be another developing to the east of Kiev. A super cauldron of all three is visible. The nazis will be exterminated; the ordinary Ukrainian soldier will be allowed to go home. The nightmare question is how many ordinary Ukrainians will be free to choose.

The dilemma for the Russians is city fighting. They do not want to have a Raqqa in which every building is destroyed, every person killed and solitudinem is declared to be pax. They know that at the end of the day there will still be Ukrainians and they will want them to be friends: Washington can create solitudes far away, but Moscow cannot create them nearby. This greatly complicates their problem when they try to clear the nazis out of Mariupol knowing that the nazis are using the city’s people as hostages. The same problem exists, to a lesser degree, in the other cities of Novorossiya. My guess is they will surround most cities and hope that Zelinsky & Co come to their senses. But I fear that the Mariupol battle will be horrible.

There are some slight indications, on Day 8, that Ukrainian negotiators are realising that neutrality is something they have to agree to. I also see the realisation creeping up on the American side.

The ultimate Russian aim is not visible. By this I mean the ultimate strategic aim; we know what the grand strategic aim is. Are the Russians planning to create a Novorossiya which will be independent or are they aiming to create a Novorossiya which will be a bargaining chip with rump Ukraine? I think the answer depends on what Zelinsky and Kiev (and the locals) decide. In about a week’s time, an independent Novorossiya will exist and Russia will continue to have the hammer.

I would expect large-scale surrenders of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to begin in the next 24/48 hours (Chechen forces already claim one and have an impressive collection of “trophies” to prove it). A significant proportion of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is now surrounded and, as is usual (vide Sun Tsu) the Russians have left them an exit.

GRAND STRATEGY

The impotence of the EU and NATO is clear to everyone (Well, OK, not anyone on CNN, or in the US Congress or in the halls of power in the West. But they are not the whole world). In this respect, I recommend watching Riyadh – Abdul Aziz was very good at seeing how the wind blew and one can assume his descendents are too.

The 97, or whatever they were, fighter planes that were excitedly announced, are obviously not coming. The no fly zone can’t be “declared”. The Chechens have picked up a lot of MANPADs that NATO supplied. All that NATO support will get you is destruction when you fight the war it suckered you into and an extra special Christmas card when you’re defeated and ruined.

We are seeing the collapse of post Cold War triumphalism, “end of history”, “unilateralism” and all the rest of it. Reality is biting, and biting hard. All you have to do is watch CNN’s parade of talking heads and “experts” speculating about how crazy Putin is: they don’t understand, therefore he must be nuts. For the West, as it has been, it’s over. The confusion, the bullshit, the boasting, the hysteria, the bans: the West has nothing left in the locker. Pour Russian vodka down the toilet, fire a singer and director, change the name of a drink or a salad, ban cats or trees, sanction a Russian plutocrat and steal his yacht, wear a blue and yellow t-shirt. Pathetic. And don’t, under any circumstances, allow a Russian outlet to tempt the sheeple with “disinformation”. Just like the USSR but stupider. And who thought stupider was even possible?

Judo is about deception and using the opponent’s strength against him. Putin, the judoka, has judoed the West into suicide. Put your money in our banks, we can confiscate it; put your assets in our territory, we can steal them; use our money and we can cancel it; put your yacht in our harbour, we can pirate it; put your gold in our vault, we can grab it. That is a lesson that will resound around the world. A naked illustration that the “rules-based international order” is simply that we make the rules and order you to obey them. In 2 or 3 weeks everybody in the world who is on the potential Western hit list will have moved his assets out of the reach of the West. Xi will permit himself a small smile.

As to Western sanctions against Russia, I think there’s a very simple answer to that: last week 1000 cubic metres of gas cost $1,000; today it’s over twice that. Next week it certainly won’t be cheaper. Ditto for aluminum, potash, titanium, wheat. Russian airlines lease their planes; now what? Russian rocket motors. What the people in the West do not understand is the ruble is the currency the Russians use inside the country but the price of oil and gas is the Russian currency outside the country. I am astounded at the stupidity: they’re cutting their own throats and destroying their own economies.

Russia sits back and laughs: fly into space on your own broomstick.

The world order has changed. Week Two.

How Russia Will Counterpunch the U.S./EU Declaration of War

by Pepe Escobar via Strategic-Culture

Only self-sufficiency affords total independence. And the Big Picture has also been keenly understood by the Global South.

One of the key underlying themes of the Russia/Ukraine/NATO matrix is that the Empire of Lies (copyright Putin) has been rattled to the core by the combined ability of Russian hypersonic missiles and a defensive shield capable of blocking incoming nuclear missiles from the West, thereby ending Mutually Assured Destruction (M.A.D.)

This has led the Americans to nearly risk a hot war to be able to place hypersonic missiles that they still don’t have on Ukraine’s western borders, and so be within three minutes of Moscow. For that, of course, they need Ukraine, as well as Poland and Romania in Eastern Europe.

In Ukraine, the Americans are determined to fight to the last European soul – if that’s what it takes. This may be the last roll of the (nuclear) dice. Thus the next-to-last gasp at coercing Russia into submission by using the remaining, workable American weapon of mass destruction: SWIFT.

Yet this weapon can be easily neutralized by rapid adoption of self-sufficiency.

With essential input by the inestimable Michael Hudson I have outlined possibilities for Russia to weather the sanction storm. That didn’t even consider the full extent of Russia’s “black box defense” – and counter-attack – as outlined by John Helmer in his introduction to an essay that heralds no less then The Return of Sergei Glaziev.

Glaziev, predictably detested across Atlanticist circles, was a key economic adviser to President Putin and is now the Minister for Integration and Macroeconomics of the Eurasia Economic Union (EAEU). He has always been a fierce critic of the Russian Central Bank and the oligarch gang closely linked to Anglo-American finance.

His latest essay, Sanctions and Sovereignty, originally published by expert.ru and translated by Helmer, deserves serious scrutiny.

This is one of the key takeaways:

“Russian losses of potential GDP, since 2014, amount to about 50 trillion rubles. But only 10% of them can be explained by sanctions, while 80% of them were the result of monetary policy. The United States benefits from anti-Russian sanctions, replacing the export of Russian hydrocarbons to the EU as well as China; replacing the import of European goods by Russia. We could completely offset the negative consequences of financial sanctions if the Bank of Russia fulfilled its constitutional duty to ensure a stable ruble exchange rate, and not the recommendations of Washington financial organizations.”

De-offshore or bust

Glaziev essentially recommends:

– A “real de-offshorization of the economy”.

– “Measures to tighten currency regulation in order to stop the export of capital and expand targeted lending to enterprises in need of financing investments”.

– “Taxation of currency speculation and transactions in dollars and euros on the domestic market”.

– “Serious investment in R&D in order to accelerate the development of our own technological base in the areas affected by sanctions – first of all the defense industry, energy, transport and communications.”

And last but not least, “the de-dollarization of our foreign exchange reserves, replacing the dollar, euro and pound with gold.”

The Russian Central Bank seems to be listening. Most of these measures are already in place. And there are signs that Putin and the government are finally ready to grab the Russian oligarchy by the balls and force them to share risks and losses at an extremely difficult for the nation. Goodbye to stockpiling funds taken out of Russia offshore and in Londongrad.

Glaziev is the real deal. In December 2014 I was at a conference in Rome, and Glaziev joined us on the phone. Reviewing a subsequent column I wrote at the time, between Rome and Beijing, I was stunned: it’s as if Glaziev was saying these things literally today.

Allow me to quote two paragraphs:

“At the symposium, held in a divinely frescoed former 15th century Dominican refectory now part of the Italian parliament’s library, Sergey Glaziev, on the phone from Moscow, gave a stark reading of Cold War 2.0. There’s no real “government” in Kiev; the U.S. ambassador is in charge. An anti-Russia doctrine has been hatched in Washington to foment war in Europe – and European politicians are its collaborators. Washington wants a war in Europe because it is losing the competition with China.”

“Glaziev addressed the sanctions dementia: Russia is trying simultaneously to reorganize the politics of the International Monetary Fund, fight capital flight and minimize the effect of banks closing credit lines for many businessmen. Yet the end result of sanctions, he says, is that Europe will be the ultimate losers economically; bureaucracy in Europe has lost economic focus as American geopoliticians have taken over.”

Gotta pay the “tax on independence”

A consensus seems to be emerging in Moscow that the Russian economy will stabilize quickly, as there will be a shortage of personnel for industry and a lot of extra hands will be required. Hence no unemployment. There may be shortages, but no inflation. Sales of – Western – luxury goods have already been curtailed. Imported products will be placed under price controls. All the necessary rubles will be available though price controls – as happened in the U.S. in WWII.

A wave of nationalization of assets may be ahead. ExxonMobil announced it will withdrawfrom the $4 billion Sakhalin-1 project (they had bailed out on Sakhalin-2, deemed too expensive), producing 200,000 barrels of oil a day, after BP and Norway’s Equinor announced they were withdrawing from projects with Rosneft. BP was actually dreaming of taking all of Rosneft’s participation.

According to Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, the Kremlin is now blocking asset sales by foreign investors looking to divest. In parallel, Rosneft, for instance, is bound to raise capital from China and India, who are already minority investors in several projects, and buy them out 100%: an excellent opportunity for Russian business.

What could be construed as the Mother of All Counter-Sanctions has not yet been announced. Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev himself hinted all options are on the table.

Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, channeling the patience of 10,000 Taoist monks, still expecting the current hysteria to fade away, describes the sanctions as “some kind of a tax on independence”,

with countries barring their companies from working in Russia under “huge pressure.”

Lethal counterpunches though are not excluded. Apart from completely de-dollarizing – as Glaviev recommends – Russia may ban the export of titanium, rare earth, nuclear fuel and, already in effect, rocket engines.

Very toxic moves would include seizing all foreign assets of hostile nations; freeze all loan repayments to Western banks and place the funds in a frozen account in a Russian bank; completely ban all hostile foreign media, foreign media ownership, assorted NGOs and CIA fronts; and supply friendly nations with state of the art weapons, intel sharing and joint training and exercises.

What’s certain is that a new architecture of payment systems – as discussed by Michael Hudson and others – uniting the Russian SPFS and the Chinese CHIPS, may soon be offered to scores of nations across Eurasia and the Global South – several among them already under sanctions, such as Iran, Venezuela, Cuba, Nicaragua, Bolivia, Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, the DPRK.

Slowly but surely, we are already on the way to the emergence of a sizeable Global South bloc immune to American financial warfare.

The RIC in BRICS – Russia, India and China – are already increasing trade in their own currencies. If we look at the list of nations at the UN that voted against Russia or (sic) but abstained from condemning Operation Z in Ukraine, plus those that did not sanction Russia, we have at least 70% of the whole Global South.

So once again is the West – plus satrapies/colonies such as Japan and Singapore in Asia – against the Rest: Eurasia, Southeast Asia, Africa, Latin America.

The coming European collapse

Michael Hudson told me, “the U.S. and Western Europe expected a Froelicher Krieg (“happy war”). Germany and other countries haven’t begun to feel the pain of gas and mineral and food deprivation. THAT’S going to be the real game. The aim would be to break Europe away from U.S. control via NATO. This will involve “meddling” by creating a New World Order political movement and party, like Communism was a century ago. You could call it a new Great Awakening.”

A possible Great Awakening certainly will not involve the NATOstan sphere anytime soon. The collective West is rather in serious Great Decoupling mode, its entire economy weaponized with the aim, expressed in the open, of destroying Russia and even – the perennial wet dream – provoking regime change.

Sergey Naryshkin, the head of the SVR, succinctly described it:

“Masks have dropped. The West is not just trying to enclose Russia with a new ‘Iron Curtain’. We are talking about attempts to destroy our state – its ‘abolition’, as it is now customary to say in the ‘tolerant’ liberal-fascist environment. Since the United States and its allies have neither the opportunity nor the spirit to try to do this in an open and honest military-political confrontation, sneaky attempts are being made to establish an economic, informational and humanitarian “blockade”’.

Arguably the apex of Western hysteria is the onset of a 2022 Neo-Nazi Jihad: a 20,000-strong mercenary army being assembled in Poland under CIA supervision. The bulk comes from private military companies such as Blackwater/Academi and DynCorp. Their cover: “return of Ukrainians from the French Foreign Legion.” This Afghan remix comes straight from the only playbook the CIA knows.

Back in reality, facts on the ground will eventually lead entire economies in the West to become roadkill – with chaos in the commodities sphere leading to skyrocketing energy and food costs. As an example, up to 60% of German and 70% of Italian manufacturing industries may be forced to shut down for good – with catastrophic social consequences.

The unelected, uber-Kafkaesque EU machine in Brussels has chosen to commit a triple hara-kiri by grandstanding as abject vassals of the Empire, destroying any remaining French and German sovereignty impulses and imposing alienation from Russia-China.

Meanwhile, Russia will be showing the way: only self-sufficiency affords total independence. And the Big Picture has also been keenly understood by the Global South: one day someone had to stand up and say, “That’s Enough”. With maximum raw power to back it up.

Morale High Among Ukrainian Resistance in Kiev as Russians Forget to Bring Gas for Tanks

by Andrew Anglin via Daily Stormer

A Ukrainian people’s resistance movement in Kiev prepares for the Russian attack.

Photos emerging from the conflict zone in the Ukraine show Ukrainian civilian resistance fighters looking joyful as they prepare to defend their homeland, while Russians are seen looking depressed and downtrodden as they forgot to bring gas for their tanks.

Russia invaded the Ukraine last week because Vladimir Putin is a dictator who insists he will rebuild the Soviet Union.

Josef Konisky owned a pastry shop in Kiev before the invasion began, and he decided to take up arms against the brutal Russian invasion. He now leads a band of rebels who he says are “ready to fight to the last man” to defend democracy and freedom.

Josef Konisky, Ukrainian pastry shop owner turned militia leader

The Times spoke to Konisky, who said that “desperate times call for desperate measures, and I will do everything to protect my homeland and defend the freedom of our democracy.”

Konisky laughed when shown pictures of Russian fighters on their way to Kiev who had to stop the movement of their military convoy because they forgot to bring gas.

Russian soldiers seen looking irritated as they realize that their convoy cannot move forward because they forgot to bring gas for their trucks and tanks.

Konisky was not surprised that the Russians would make a mistake like this, referring to the enemy as “dumb animals.”

“Russians think they are good at war, but they know nothing about the strength and heart of the Ukrainian people. They forget to bring gas, but soon they will forget everything, when we blow their brains out of their skulls,” Konisky explained.

Russians soldiers seen piled on a truck, headed back to Russia to pick up the gas they forgot.

“I never want a war,” Konisky told the Times. “I am happy with my life, with my freedom. I make cherry pies, pretzel buns, and fish cakes. But Russians bring the war to us, and we will not bow down.”

“My men are ready for anything. We have already killed over 4,000 Russian soldiers attempting to enter the city,” he said.

One of Konisky’s men, Volo Krensky, who is only 11 years old, has already had 160 confirmed kills, and was able to shoot down two Russian helicopters with his AK-47.

Volo Krensky is only 11, but has killed over 150 Russian soldiers while defending Kiev.

“The key is to aim at the rotors,” Volo told the Times when explaining how he was able to shoot down helicopters. “When the rotors have holes in them, air gets through, and it causes the helicopter to crash.”

Koninsky also explained his anti-tank strategy.

“We fill balloons with paint, and throw them at the tanks, and it disables them,” he said. “Often, we send young children on these anti-tank missions, as they are smaller and harder to hit.”

Konisky said that he did not know that you could take out a tank with a balloon, but he read it from an American journalist on Twitter, and has found the technique extremely efficient. He says his team has taken out more than 200 tanks using balloons.

He says that his team spends hours each day scanning Twitter for tactical advice from American journalists.

Konisky’s squad is so effective that Vladimir Putin has personally addressed him, putting a bounty on his head. He passed out pamphlets to his soldiers reading “Get Konisky.”

The brutal Russian dictator, who been using cluster bombs in Kiev to kill children, gave a special address calling out Koninsky as the chief threat to his aggressive war effort.

Konisky’s deadly band has gotten so famous in the Ukraine and across the world that Joe Biden addressed him personally at his State of the Union address, ending his address with “Koninsky – go get him.”

Note: There might be traces of humor in this piece.

Sean Hannity Calls for Putin Assassination as Ultimate Retardedness Intensifies

by Andrew Anglin via Daily Stormer

On Wednesday night, Fox News host Sean Hannity called for the assassination of Vladimir Putin, saying he has “forfeit his right to live.”

He first said that he hoped that people around him assassinate him, then he called for a change in international law which prohibits the assassination of foreign leaders.

It’s really like deja vu all over again to see Fox News – Hannity in particular – back on his game from twenty years ago. I remember watching this guy during the Iraq War talking about all of the atrocities that Saddam Hussein was committing, and going into this unhinged rage about how America needs to kill people.

There is only so much I can even take. He had Ari Fleischer on.

For those younger among you – Fleischer is a Jewish neocon who served as George Bush’s version of Jen Psaki during the Iraq invasion. He was the press secretary who kept talking about intelligence showing Saddam had weapons of mass destruction and was planning to invade America.

Someone who did what Fleischer did, playing this role in faking this hoax that got thousands of Americans killed and millions of Arabs – for literally no reason other than the alleged security interests of Israel – would retire from public life completely, in total shame. Or, in his case, he might move to Israel, and get a job there. But instead, he is brought on as an expert on how we need to do a really serious war against Russia.

Hannity is claiming that Putin is losing the war so badly that he has begun using cluster bombs on civilian neighborhoods. This is the wackiest thing.

The biggest difference between this and Iraq is that when Hannity was pumping that war, three large buildings had just been blown up in New York City.

The other big difference is that after Donald Trump, who did succeed in changing America’s mind about foreign wars, this conservative agenda for war cannot yet include calls for an American invasion of Russia, or even boots on the ground in the Ukraine to fight Russian soldiers.

But that will change. They are hyping up this atrocity propaganda to maximum level, as they prepare to call for a no-fly zone aggressively, which will mean starting a war with Russia. Please remember that this is at the same time they are saying that Putin has gone completely insane, and will start firing nukes if he is backed into a corner. It seems like if you actually believed that, you’d be saying “maybe we should just agree to talks with Russia, restore Ukraine’s neutrality status, and end the war.”

Understand that: this could be ended at any time by simply ending the push for the Ukraine to join NATO and the EU. Putin isn’t going to give back the south of the country, but he’d let them keep Kiev and most of the rest of the country if the Americans and NATO simply agreed to go back to neutrality. He’s said that clearly.

Hannity and Fox were the key figures pushing the idea that Saddam Hussein was responsible for 911, and that he had weapons of mass destruction. So I guess it shouldn’t be surprising he is pushing these “mindlessly slaughtering women and children” narratives. But it’s still wild to see.

There is a woman, Victoria Spartz, who is apparently a Ukrainian-American Congressperson, who I didn’t even know existed. She has a thick accent. She was on Hannity Wednesday night saying that gangs of mercenaries are going into villages and shooting women and children.

Because they can’t call for open war yet, the main thing that Fox News is calling for is energy sanctions, blocking the sale of all Russian energy to the West.

Those are probably coming. I don’t know how they couldn’t be, with the pitch that this narrative has reached.

I saw that black woman on Fox News, I forget her name (she is very white presenting and the only black female host on Fox), and she was saying that it will spike the price of gasoline in an extreme way, but said that Americans should start riding bicycles as a sacrifice for the democracy of the Ukraine.

I’m not joking. I wish I had the clip. She said that people should give up driving cars and start riding bicycles in order to protect human rights in the Ukraine.

It’s just…

Imagine what the Jews have done to the Palestinians in recent memory. Imagine the invasion of Lebanon.

Also, do people remember Rwanda? And all of these other wars in Africa where entire villages were getting machine-gunned down or chopped up with machetes?

What about what is going on right now in Yemen, which is supported by the United States? No one can say that is not much worse than what is happening in the Ukraine.

And that is without even going into what the United States has done itself in my lifetime. The invasion of Iraq was a complete slaughter. The US killed millions of people. They leveled the entire city of Baghdad. It was just indiscriminate slaughter.

Also – it took 20 days. People keep saying “Putin is losing the war because it is taking him a week to win.” Well, Iraq was “shock and awe.” No one can say Putin is doing “shock and awe.” Even in Kharkiv – Fox News itself, the lead propaganda outlet, was whining about four (4) civilian deaths yesterday. They said the entire civilian death toll – which I guarantee is mostly partisans throwing Molotovs at soldiers and trucks – is less than 2,000, through the entire week. I don’t know how that jives with “going into villages and slaughtering everyone.”

The strategy of saying “Biden isn’t doing the war hard enough” is smart. I mean, Biden’s people started the war by trying to move NATO into the Ukraine, and completely refusing to negotiate on neutrality. Russia gave a list of demands that were really reasonable – just saying “we just don’t want NATO on our border, we need a buffer. We’ve tolerated this endless expansion, but now it’s on our direct border, and you’re talking about short range missiles openly, and this is a red line. Please just back off and let’s have peace.”

Biden’s people refused to even discuss this, and kept walking out of meetings, or refusing to meet at all.

So, Biden started the war – but he isn’t fighting the war hard enough. That’s their narrative.

Fox keeps playing this clip of Kamala Harris saying “basically, the Ukraine is a country…”

I am about as critical of that bitch as I am of anyone, but the clip is from “The Morning Hustle.” It’s a black show. She is trying to get black people on board with the war, and when you are talking to black people about something like this, you have to start with “basically, the Ukraine is a country.”

I’m not defending Kamala, but it’s the dumbest attack.

The West is Getting These People Slaughtered

There is zero chance that the Ukraine can win a war against Russia. That is an insane proposal.

This is like if Texas tried to secede and it was invaded by the US Military and the Russian media was broadcasting nonstop propaganda that the Texas National Guard was going to win a war against the US military, because Texans have such a strong fighting spirit.

Whatever you think of Russia, this is a matter of numbers. Adolf Hitler – who had a pretty good army – sent nearly 4 million troops to fight Russia with at the time extremely advanced weaponry, and lost really badly.

There is nothing more irresponsible than the West continuing to tell the Ukrainians they can win this war, that they are going to send them all these weapons, and they will repel the invasion. The Ukrainian media is saying the same thing, and is trying to block all Russian media that is trying to explain to these people the basic math of the situation.

The West is saying they’re sending all these weapons – how are they going to get the weapons into the country? Russia already bombed all the airfields, and Russia has complete control of all Ukrainian airspace. There is no possible way to fly weapons in. So they are going to do what? They are going to drive the weapons in across the Polish border?

Even if Russia didn’t bomb the weapons convoys – or just stop them on the road – there is no possible way they are going to get the weapons into Kiev, which is already surrounded. Honestly, I don’t even understand what these people are talking about when they say they are sending all these weapons. It has been sort of addressed in the media, they’ve at least noted it for anyone who has basic cognitive functionality, and they’ve said they don’t know how the weapons are going to get into the country.

Even with massive amounts of Western military hardware, Ukraine would still lose the war – it would just mean that a lot more people would die. But right now, making this claim about Western weapons is just a way to give these people false hope, and keep them shoving themselves into a meat grinder.

The West is also implying that there might be a NATO no-fly zone over the Ukraine, or some other form of serious military aid. They are just filling the minds of the people with dreams of lollipops and candy canes.

No sane person thinks that the Ukraine is going to win this war. It is just utterly goofy nonsense.

What the West wants is as many dead civilians and bombed out buildings as possible, so they are stringing the Ukrainian military, and whatever percentage of the civilian population is against a Russian takeover (that isn’t clear, but we know from pre-Maidan elections that it is less than half). They are trying to create a massive atrocity situation.

This is why they are advising the Ukrainian military to take up positions in residential areas or other areas with high civilian populations. They are trying to force Russians to kill as many civilians as possible. (Obviously, in any war, civilians are going to die, but Russia went in with a policy of minimizing civilian casualties at the expensive of higher Russian military casualties.)

The footage we’ve seen from Kharkiv specifically shows that they are seeing some success with this strategy. As we’ve reported, the mayor of Kharkiv tried to surrender to the Russian military, but then the Ukraine military moved in more heavily and started fighting the Russians.

No one wants to see death and destruction, other than the West, who wants to paint Putin as a mass murdering psychopath who indiscriminately slaughters civilians.

Basically, the Western strategy is to force Russia to completely level much of the Ukraine. That means, in any rational analysis, that the West is completely responsible for all of the deaths in the Ukraine. The only logical thing for the Ukraine to do would have been to immediately surrender, and for Zelensky to resign, and to allow the Russians to install an intermediary government to hold new elections, at which point neutrality could be reinstated.

Everyone who knows anything understands that the current government of the Ukraine is a revolutionary counter-revolutionary government installed by the West, following the revolution coup they funded in 2014. And everyone understands that this government is only able to hold power by banning opposition media and opposition political figures (there have also been assassinations). Putin tolerated this, as long as neutrality was maintained, but the West refused to maintain neutrality, and attempted to get Ukraine into NATO and the EU.

The level of disinformation coming out of the media is completely out of control. It’s actually shocking. The fact that the right-wing is going along with this lunacy really proves that there is not any kind of solution to the problems of the United States. We are just doomed. The media has complete control over people’s thoughts. I think many conservatives will be willing to pay $9 for a gallon of gas – or ride a bike through the snow to the grocery store – in order to back the fight against the evil Russian regime.

Tucker Carlson is going to be taken off the air, social media is going to continue to be censored even further, and people will be convinced that they are only good people if they agree to submit to these sanctions. A free society is not compatible with a ubiquitous and ubiquitously censored mass electronic media.

Ukraine: Putin, the Pope, and Wayne Gretzky

by Larry Romanoff via Unz.com

“This is the largest, and most shocking, display of a centrally-controlled media flood of vicious invective that I have ever seen.”

I made that comment to myself after reading thousands (and I don’t exaggerate; I mean thousands) of articles in all the Western world’s media about Kamila Valieva and Russia at the Olympics. But I’d hardly gotten the words out of my mouth when Kamila fell to second place, replaced by Vladimir Putin and Russia (again).

For background, I generally peruse 30 or more publications each day, in 15 or 20 countries, to learn what different countries are saying on important topics, and I save all webpages with useful content. With these Western attacks on Russia, I stopped. I’ve been doing this for many years, but in this case I could no longer stomach the rubbish I was reading, and I quit.

The intensity of the attacks on Russia are breath-taking. The false and twisted reports are finding new highs of dishonesty, and the range of items assembled to “punish” Russia would have been beyond the limits of my imagination only a week ago. Looking at the entire landscape, it is obvious this is all being tightly orchestrated from a central source, the usual suspects who benefit most from all wars, but it is astonishing to see how wildly they are grasping and how useless many of their actions must be. There seems almost a desperation to inflict pain, no matter how trivial, and to give the impression of an international consensus of inflicting pain. Some of the Western actions are serious, some almost comical, and others absolutely ridiculous. I have attempted here to give you a small sample of what I have collected. The main thread through all of it is the intensity of the attacks and the lies being told.

On the serious side, Switzerland, of all countries, suddenly abandoned its history of neutrality to claim it will impose “EU-like” sanctions on Russia, which means freezing or seizing all Russian bank accounts in the country. That is almost unbelievable. How could such a thing happen? Who put what kind of pressure on the Swiss government to effect this?[1]

Everyone is joining in. The UK now “fast-tracks law to tackle Russian ‘dirty money’”, the UK Home Secretary Priti Patel claiming, “Time is up for Putin’s cronies hiding dirty money in the UK”, and Boris Johnson stating “there will be nowhere to hide your ill-gotten gains.”[2]

No evidence the gains are ill-gotten, but it seems none is necessary. The West appears unanimous in wanting to simply seize all assets owned by Russia or Russians, having convinced itself that laws no longer apply, that to punish disobedience you simply steal all of another’s property and bankrupt him.

Roman Abramovich is having to turn the Chelsea club over to a custodian for fear it will be confiscated, and the UK media are mostly screaming to have his $200 million house confiscated as well, simply for the crime of being Russian.

We have headlines telling us that all world leaders are determined to fight Russia on these (financial) fronts because, even after another wave of sanctions, many Putin associates “still remain untouched”. These people have stated a determination to find and seize all assets belonging to anyone who agrees with Putin on anything, his friends, colleagues, business associates, family, everyone. They have already seized all the assets of Russia’s Central Bank that are in the EU, which is about half of all Russia’s foreign currency and gold reserves.[3]

[4]

There is no law to support this; sovereign funds are untouchable. Unless you are a Western fascist criminal cabal masquerading as a “democracy.”

The UK Guardian has changed character from a newspaper to a disgusting hate-mongering trash bin with sometimes as many as 20 or 25 articles on Russia in one day that are almost breath-taking in their abysmal dishonesty. I would never have imagined such a thing. “It’s stomach-turning”, the Guardian tells us,[5]

of the mothers and babies taking shelter as Russian invasion claims lives of ‘up to’ ten children.” Well, where the hell was the Guardian when Madeline Albright was ‘claiming the lives’ of half a million infants in Iraq? Where was the Guardian when the photos surfaced of the tens of thousands of hideously-deformed babies born in Iraq from the depleted uranium?

Many of the Western media tried to present photo evidence of “Thousands of Ukrainians rushing towards Polish border”, and “thousands of vehicles packed with Ukrainian refugees trying to flee”. Where were they when hundreds of thousands were fleeing portions of Yugoslavia on foot, including limitless numbers of children? Where were they when millions were fleeing the genocide in Iraq? The Guardian tells us “More than 360,000 people have fled war in Ukraine”, apparently counted by the UN.[6]

If this is true, why wasn’t the UN counting the refugees in all the US-instigated wars of recent past?

Ukrainian “refugees” desperately fleeing for their lives (Photo: BBC)
Ukrainian “refugees” desperately fleeing for their lives (Photo: BBC)

Then we had Reuters tearfully relating how Ukraine’s hospitals are all running out of medical oxygen,[7]

a bit surprising after only two days and with the Russian military nowhere near the large cities. But where are Reuters when even today Iran has a shortage of not only medical oxygen but of almost everything medical, from no cash due to Western ‘sanctions’?

Also, courtesy of the BBC, we have “Powerful pictures of Ukrainians’ lives turned upside down by war”,[8]

and photos of “Ukrainians under fire”.[9]

Again, why didn’t we have pictures of lives in Iraq and Libya “turned upside down by war”? Why not for Yugoslavia and Syria and Yemen? Why not for Venezuela today? Why not some photos of the effects of 60 years of brutal sanctions on Cuba?

The BBC told us tearfully of the “miles of queues to flee the invasion” of Ukraine.[10]

Well, where were the BBC and their tears to tell us of the millions (rather than hundreds) of Iraqis fleeing their country? Where was the BBC when we needed to know of the millions of refugees and the horrific ethnic cleansing that went on in what was Yugoslavia? Similarly, the BBC has a refugee “tearfully describe why she fled Ukraine”.[11]

Where were the BBC reporters to interview some of the millions fleeing Iraq, Libya, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen and so many others? Would the BBC, “the most trusted news source in the world”. like to shed a public tear for Julian Assange?

If that isn’t bad enough, even the Pope got into this, with a statement that “Those who wage war in Ukraine ‘forget humanity’”.[12]

This is also without precedent. Who has the influence or power to instigate such a provocative claim from the Pope? Forgive my rudeness, but where the hell was this hypocritical SOB when Madeleine Albright was killing 500,000 Iraqi infants? Where was he when the US was firing millions of depleted-uranium shells into Iraq? Where was he when the US was engaged in Serbia with “the most protracted bombing campaign in the history of the world”? But Russia, wanting to prevent Ukraine from becoming a nuclear bastion for the US, ten minutes from Moscow, has no ‘humanity’.

Getting Tough With Putin the Killer

The UK Telegraph boasts that “The West has finally taken the gloves off against Putin, and redeemed our honor”.[13]

Well, good for us. And the Guardian tells us “It is a matter of life and death” that we provide weapons for Ukraine[14]

to make the war last as long as possible (and weaken Russia in preparation for a US declaration of war).

The London Times concurs that we must “Confront the Warmonger”, and crows that “the West is at last putting together measures to hurt Putin and punish Russian aggression.”[15]

That’s nice, but why wasn’t anyone confronting the warmongers of the US and Israel? Those involved many “life and death” situations but the media were all silent.

Canada’s CTV moans that Ukraine is “a humanitarian catastrophe”, with grave concerns about capacity to replenish food and medicine.[16]

The last figures I saw, indicated several hundred deaths. If this makes Ukraine “a humanitarian catastrophe”, what would CTV like to tell us about Palestine? Where was Canada’s CTV when Iran was so badly hit by US sanctions it still hasn’t the cash even to buy COVID vaccines, much less basic medical supplies? Same with Venezuela, another beneficiary of US sanctions. Those countries are genuine humanitarian catastrophes while Ukraine is nothing. Where are these people when we need them? Canada’s CTV network is deplorably dishonest, blinded by some parasitic ideology.

Canada used to be a respectable country; not too many friends, but no enemies, and a reputation for integrity. Courtesy of recent psychopathic Zionists and pedophiles in its leadership, Canada now has no friends, plenty of serious enemies, a bad and worsening reputation, and has become a directionless US puppet-state with a mouth as large as that of Australia’s and a collective brain the size of a walnut. Canada’s Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, is not only painfully unintelligent but can be astonishingly stupid and gives a rather good imitation of a coward. To say nothing of beating the US at its own game of turning his country into the first genuine fascist state. It is unbelievable to me that neither Canada’s Trudeau nor Australia’s Morrison are able to look at Ukraine today and realise how dispensable they are. Both shoot off their mouths, taunting major nuclear powers – just as Ukraine did – and neither can see how freely their Washington puppet-master abandons its puppets when the going gets rough.

Canada is supporting, and even eagerly pushing, the elimination of Russia from Swift[17]

– as if the powers causing all this cared what Canada thinks. Talk about a delusional intellectual midget punching above his weight while hiding behind someone he believes will protect him. But Trudeau will “punish” Russia by asking Canadian liquor stores to ban Russian vodka. A statesman, if I ever saw one. But it gets much better: Canada’s truly delusional, and almost certainly psychopathic, Foreign Affairs Minister, Melanie Joly, is a real tough chick, who says “Everything is on the table: Canada will “suffocate” “Russia.[18]

Not only that, she encourages Canadians to “join the Ukrainian foreign legion to fight Russia”.[19]

I want to write something here, but I can’t think of anything to say.

Trudeau and Canada pride themselves on “Demonstrations in solidarity with Ukraine”, but Trudeau had no such solidarity with the Freedom Protesters in Canada against his insane COVID policies and in fact arranged with the banks to seize the bank accounts of all the protestors.[20]

It seems that protests are good only when someone else is the target.

Australia’s Morrisson is equally as stupid, promising to supply “lethal arms” for Ukraine.[21]

I know this isn’t very nice, but both Canada and Australia deserve to get nuked. They really do. When you are so small and have a mouth so big, something bad will happen to you sooner or later.

There is much more that the ‘democratic’ West is doing to punish Russia. Reuters reported a new EU law that will require all firms to check suppliers for “human rights”.[22]

Sorry, Russia, but you no longer qualify for anything, hence your exports will hopefully fall to zero. Natural gas supplies may be protected from this law, at least until Putin shuts the pipeline.

Then we have the Western airlines banning all Russian flights to Western countries,[23]

which makes you wonder what some of these people think about, if they think at all. The perfectly predictable outcome of these bans was that Russia immediately retaliated, banning not only foreign flights but all transit over Russian air space, which means many Western flights will now be hours and potentially thousands of miles longer, and quite a bit more expensive.

The US Administration, no doubt thanks at least in part to Victoria Nuland the Cookie Monster, the White House now wants “to Make China Pay for Close Ties to Russia”. Never miss an opportunity to cause yet more trouble; never fail to pour more fuel on the fire. The WSJ tells us that “Sanctions and UN debates are aimed in part at making Beijing feel discomfort . . . and dividing the two.”[24]

“One step, U.S. officials said, is making Beijing feel pain over Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.” Germany’s der Spiegel agrees they should do this because “Xi Is, Along with Putin, the Most Dangerous Man in the World”[25]

In the middle of all this the US even found time to condemn Pyongyang’s latest missile launch, widening the Axis of Evil even further.

And we have George Soros telling us Ukraine reminds him of the Siege of Budapest.[26]

It’s not clear why, because during the ‘siege of Budapest’ Soros was busy taking part in the confiscation of property from other Jews in Nazi-occupied areas, but claims he has “no sense of guilt” for what he did. Perhaps he’s planning on confiscating yet more property in Ukraine when the dust settles. In case you don’t know, Soros and Madeline Albright “took over” the communications networks of Kosovo after the US separated it from Serbia. The estimated value was $800 million.

Another bizarre feature of all this is that Israel offered its services as a “mediator” on Ukraine.[27]

Until this, I thought I’d heard everything. The European Zionist financiers and industrialists who want a Third World War so badly they can taste it, and who are certainly responsible for both the geo-political events that have transpired, and for the intense media flood of Russia hatred, have the nerve to offer one of their own to screw things up even more. Not only that, Israel proclaimed to the world (not that anyone was listening) that it remained “neutral” in the Russia-Ukraine dispute (not that anyone cared). It is my opinion that if Israel has delusions of becoming a “world power” and begins to stick its neck out in areas like this, that head is begging to be chopped off.

Canada’s CTV news tells us that “Russia’s billionaires call for peace in Ukraine”.[28]

Well, where were Canada’s billionaires when Iraq and Libya were being trashed? Where were America’s?

Then we have the Western governments rushing to our protection by blocking RT and Sputnik News and cancelling their licenses so they will “no longer be able to spread their lies to justify Putin’s war”.[29]

Worse has happened with the Russian News Agencies like TASS and Ria Novosti, who have been subject to non-stop DDOS and other attacks in attempts to take them off the air permanently. I guess that’s good. Nobody wants fake news. Sadly, this news was given to us by the UK Guardian who are rapidly becoming the most rabid fake-news source of all.

This one is important, and I was surprised the article ran, even though it has its dirty side. The New York Times openly admitted that people generally are “fed up” with Google and its clever de-platforming and censoring of both any truth and any contrary narrative, and are turning to DuckDuckgo.[30]

Of course, the NYT’s version is that it’s only the “conspiracy theorists” who go there because Google eliminates all those bad things from its search results. That’s an obvious lie, of course. Even Bing is infinitely better than Google; for my own writing, Google appears to have never heard of me, or at least nothing good, while Bing will produce nearly one million hits and many many pages of listings of my articles and archives. The Russian Yandex browser is also excellent for some kinds of things. I would encourage everyone to abandon Google almost entirely and go to Bing or DuckDuckGo.

Then we discover that Google has disabled live traffic data in Google Maps, ostensibly to prevent Russian tanks from navigating the streets of Kiev.[31]

Google said it disabled the maps “for the safety of local communities . . . after consulting with . . . regional authorities.” However, “A professor at California’s Middlebury Institute of International Studies said Google Maps helped him track a “traffic jam” that was actually Russian movement towards the border hours before Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the attack.”

In fact, Google disabled its functions because Ukraine doesn’t want the world to see photographic evidence that its Nazi troops are embedding themselves on the streets in purely residential districts, using the civilian population as shields and hostages and refusing them permission to leave. More detail below, and there is much evidence in the Russian News Agency reports, if you care to read them.

To assist Google, we apparently have the Ukrainian government urging citizens to remove street signs so the Russian tanks won’t know where they are.[32]

Can you believe this? Russia initiates a military operation in Ukraine that will involve the cities, but will depend on Google maps and Ukrainian road signs for their navigation. Small world, if true.

And yet more bitter sanctions from all over the world. Siding with Canada, US state governors want liquor stores to stop selling Russian vodka,[33]

and both UPS and FedEx are halting all shipments to Russia,[34]

which isn’t a bad thing. I believe UPS is famous for delivering packages, especially those containing electronics, to the CIA for “additions and amendments” prior to delivery to the now-spy-victim customer.

Further to this, Google, Facebook and Twitter have dealt a serious financial blow to the Russian state purse by blocking all ad revenue from their platforms to “state-sponsored sources”. This would almost certainly be a killer. No need to remove Russia from the SWIFT banking system when we have these US platforms seizing all Russia’s ad revenue from Facebook.

There is some good news. The sanctions appear to be having some effect. Canada’s CTV news tells us that Russians are queuing for cash “as West targets [Russian] banks over Ukraine”.[35]

They provide no evidence, but fake stories haven’t any evidence.

And so much more punishment in the wings. For one thing, the International Judo Federation has suspended Vladimir Putin’s position as Honorary President.[36]

That has got to hurt. And Formula One will not have a race in Sochi, even though it is claimed to be “the best track in F-1”.[37]

Not only that, but FIFA has banned all matches in Russia, and there can be no flag or anthem for the Russian team.[38]

Russia is quickly being banned from all international sports; the Olympics are next. Also, the Czechs will boycott all World Cup matches that involve Russia.[39]

And to end with the most stupid of all, Wayne Gretzky says Russia should be barred from world junior hockey competition.[40]

[41]

It isn’t so much a question of what this man has in his head: short answer, nothing at all, but who got to him and with what pressure to make him say something so stupid as this.

When we think of some of the nations, organisations and people who have been co-opted into this frenzied attack on Russia, it begs the question of how this happened. It surely was not an accident. Someone got to these people with an offer they couldn’t refuse. How could the Pope, of all people, have said something so stupid when Putin made so clear he was targeting only military installations and that civilians were in no danger. In my mind, when you read about the immense tragedy of the Catholic Residential Schools in Canada (and the US), and the thousands of dead children, and when you recall the vast number of pedophile claims in all countries against the Catholic church, it seems to me it is the Pope who is “lacking in humanity”, not Putin.

Don’t Believe Everything You Read

Some fantastic lies are being fabricated by someone, and then promulgated through the media. In one such, the London Times tells us:

“More than 400 Russian mercenaries are operating in Kyiv with orders from the Kremlin to assassinate President Zelensky and his government and prepare the ground for Moscow to take control, The Times has learnt.[42]

The Wagner Group, a private militia run by one of President Putin’s closest allies and operating as an arm-length (sic) branch of the state, flew in mercenaries from Africa five weeks ago on a mission to decapitate Zelensky’s government in return for a handsome financial bonus.” No evidence is presented for such an astonishing assertion, but where was the Times when the US government was employing Eric Prince and his Blackwater Group to kill a great many influential people. They were silent. It seems anything is okay if I do it, but evil if you do it.

You surely have all heard about the valiant and brave Ukrainian soldiers on Snake Island. The island was approached by a Russian warship, the Ukrainian soldiers addressed by the captain to lay down their arms and prevent certain loss of life because the island would be shelled. These loyal and patriotic men, almost certainly part of the special Nuland Brigade, replied “F*** you, Russian warship.” You can’t be much braver than that. The island was shelled, all the brave men died, and we know it’s true because the BBC, “the world’s most trusted source of news”, said so.[43]

And Italy’s Corriere della Sera gave us all the grim details, even telling us they could hear the sounds on the tape of the bombs that killed these brave men.[44]

Ukrainian President Zelensky awarded the men post-humous gold medals for their conduct, and they surely deserved it, being almost American in their valor and patriotism.[45]

That was a good story. Too bad it never happened. In fact, the UK Guardian almost immediately published a story claiming the men “may still be alive”.[46]

And then the Washington Examiner ran an article stating that Ukraine said the men were alive after all.[47]

But there was still drama to the story. Those not-so-brave-but-still-smart non-Americans came very close to dying anyway – under attack from their own Nazi compatriots who didn’t want them to surrender. According to TASS,[48]

the Russian warship was attacked by “At least 16 Ukrainian naval boats . . . [when they] were evacuating the Ukrainian troops who had laid down their arms and surrendered on Snake Island, the small boats directed by US drones. Ministry Spokesman Igor Konashenkov said at a briefing that “some of the boats used civilian vessels as shields”.” “According to Konashenkov, the [Nazi] Ukrainian boats attacked to take revenge on those who had surrendered and to shift the blame for the prisoners’ deaths on Russia.” He added further, “As a result of the naval battles, 16 boats of the Ukrainian Navy were destroyed. None of the 82 Ukrainian troops from Snake Island were injured.” The famous audio (now viral) was apparently not genuine.

There are other rather alarming indications of the mental disposition of the Nazis in Ukraine. Putin offered amnesty to all Ukrainian soldiers agreeing to lay down their arms and avoid war and bloodshed, that they would not be harmed and would be permitted to return home to their families. It was also widely reported that any soldiers doing so were to be treated kindly by the Russian troops, that there was no animosity between them. The Nazis apparently were making deliberate efforts to identify and kill any soldiers planning to lay down their arms. There were many such reports from the Donbass areas, but none reported in the Western media.

More alarmingly, Andriy Moshkalenko, deputy mayor of the city of Lviv, denounced the Nazis, claiming they arranged “teams of saboteurs”, each around ten in number, who would paint signs on schools and hospitals, effectively marking them in Russian military code, to signal them as targets for bombing or rocket attacks.[49]

This was to discourage the population from weakening. The schools and hospitals were selected as targets because these were the main locations where civilians would gather to avoid casualties, since the Russians would target only military installations.

When Putin said his intention was to “de-Nazify” Ukraine, it was these people he had in mind, the same people who had been shelling the Donbass for the past eight years, killing tens of thousands, and the reason the two areas declared independence and asked Russia for protection.

And two engaging tales of courage and wit, courtesy of typical Ukrainians. In the first, a Ukrainian woman confronts a Russian soldier and gives him a package of sunflower seeds, saying to him, “Keep these seeds in your pocket, when you die they will grow flowers”[50]

The next was equally as cute. A Ukrainian motorist drove up to a Russian tank that was lost and out of gas, and said to the occupants, “If you want, I will tow you and take you back to Russia.”[51]

The stories are false, courtesy of Italy’s Corriere della Sera, no lie about Russia or China too big, too small, or too ridiculous, to print. Rather like the New York Times.

On another topic, Italy’s Corriere della Sera (again) tells us, and even provides a video, purporting to show two Russian soldiers “looting” a store in Sumy, Ukraine.[52]

It is by no means clear from the video that anything was actually being stolen, and the soldiers may well have been Ukrainian rather than Russian. Nevertheless, and I apologise for being repetitive, but does anyone remember Iraq? That country, between the Tigris and Euphrates, was the cradle of civilisation, or at least one of them. Iraq’s museums contained hundreds of thousands of artifacts and relics from the times of Babylon and Mesopotamia, irreplaceable treasures of a history millennia old. It is not in dispute that today all of Iraq’s museums are empty, bone-dry, stripped of every last artifact not only from museums but from private homes. The US military blamed it on “rogue soldiers” but that claim is clearly false. They would have no idea of the importance or value of anything, and my information was that many of the most valuable pieces ended up in Israel and in the homes of European Zionist financiers. I would like to know where the Corriere della Sera was when this was happening. Why is two soldiers taking a bottle of soda from a convenience store more important than the vast looting done in Iraq?

You should also know that most, if not all, of the videos being circulated about the events in Ukraine are fabricated, many being video clips or screenshots from video games. Some are photographs from unrelated events such as the chemical explosion in Tianjin, China, in 2015. But the Western media promulgated them first and checked later, after they’d been viewed hundreds of thousands of times.[53]

[54]

[55]

[56]

According to Reuters, they were merely “mis-captioned.”

Lastly, and this is off-topic, Russia’s Maria Zakharova revealed that Italy, France, and many other countries possess US nuclear weapons but do not have access to them, that these nations do not have a nuclear arsenal of their own, but that these consist of American missiles stationed in those countries and accessible only by the Americans.[57]

These countries have been made hapless targets, and with no way to escape.
